I need help please. I have a 2021 tacoma trd pro. Jbl equipped.
I've replaced all 6 speakers with kickers.
The head unit is stock jbl including the amp and sub.
I want to replace the amp and sub.
I know about the Ampro (ap4-ty13) and will sound deaden the vehicle. Should I keep the plastic box enclosure that holds the sub and amp or get a separate box/sub and after market amplifier.
The sub I will probably go with a kicker 8 inch ( if I keep the original enclosure)but how many channels for the sub.( Any recommendations).
Do I need any other parts, wiring, etc.
I got an estimate for 1500 dollars which is out of my pay grade.
Includes: 1) ap4-ty13 2) 5 channel amp with 75 watt ×4 + 500W×1@2 ohms, 1600W maximum power.
3) 4 ga 1000 W complete wiring kit.
4) 4 channel amp.
5) 10 inch single 2 ohms low profile subwoofer.
6) subwoofer box.

Is this legit, I don't want to be taken advantage of. Thanks for any feedback.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Good :)

Hey!
So I did a full sound system swap on my truck, ive spent a little bit more than I should but im glad I did.
Linking to all the parts I have on the truck.

Front Speakers - https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t2652-s/
Rear Speakers - https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t152/
Amp - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XFNNTDN/?tag=tacoma3g-20
Subs - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007IZQGJE/?tag=tacoma3g-20
All enclosed in a custom made box, needeless to say my rear seats dont fold down and to be honest the subs barely fit lol but it sounds amazing.

All the doors on the truck are sound deadened, the floor is sound deadened, the rear where the sub box is double layered with sound deadening. Doing the roof of the truck soon lol.

If you have the knowledge and tools, I would highly reccomend doing it yourself, itll save you tons of money.

Whether it's road noise, wind noise or rattling metal - most drivers wish their car were a little quieter. That's where sound deadening material comes in. Car sound deadening or sound dampening work by applying a soft material like a mat or foam to the metal surfaces under panels to absorb and stop unwanted road noise. Consider https://resonixsoundsolutions.com/ for the Sound Deadening possible!

So, after all the high-fidelity installation and the users go deaf,... is sound deadening really required?
Just curious as it seems a bit contradictive.

sound deadening is absolutely required. it muffles the sound those of us outside the car have to hear.

Music that loud will make the bolts loose on the truck,... better get a gallon of Loctite!
Might be a good idea to start saving for those expensive hearing aids as well.

Not required, but I think it offers a more enjoyable drive. Lessens road and engine noises. I feel that I hear my music better. Things feel more substantial. Like closing the door or if you just tap a panel you can hear the difference between a ping and thud. This more on the roof. Think of raindrops. Can also aid in removing a lot of interior sounds like rattles or squeaks. They also say it helps with insulation. Stay cooler longer during summer, stay warmer long during winter. I feel like it's quieter on the inside.

I went through and overdid my sound deadening. The only regret is spending more time on it than I should have. I managed to stretch it out over 2-3 weeks. Then left it apart for longer just because I was lazy.

Just think of the reasoning as to why higher end cars are heavier and quieter. Sound deadening plays a part. Butyl against metal to absorb vibrations and closed cell foam to absorb sound.

@Abanda911

$1500. That depends on if it includes installation and what components they are using. It's good to see they knew that the JBL was lower Impedance. Ultimately for that budget I would swap the head unit as well. I have the JBL in my 19. I was stubborn and stupid and kept it. Even with the head unit and swapping all speakers/sub, it was less.
