mgmyota's TRD off-road build

Odyssey group 34 battery arrived today as well as the SDHQ battery tie down kit. This will be going in this weekend since the stock battery is starting to leak, as well as the SDHQ terminal upgrade.

Updated my build list a bit. Got a shop all lined up to finally install the abundance of parts I have lol. Just waiting on the ECGS bushing and marlin crawler frame brace kit to show up. Nitro 5.29 gears seem to be back ordered in most places so those will get installed whenever they finally come in. The truck is going to be looking a whole lot different here soon and I'm excited šŸ˜. I am also going to be making a 5k round trip to Massachusetts and back in the next 6-8 weeks or so. Need to make sure the truck in dialed before I embark on that with my dog. The plan for the trip is to hit camp spots allow the way and sleep out of the bed. I'm going to be ordering a softopper here soon to keep us covered. I don't think my Goose gear seat delete will be here on time though. I've made this trip solo a few times. My dog has never been on this long of a trip though. We'll see how this all works out lol

update on the progress. The front is about done. Got the UCAā€™s, coilovers, marlin LCA frame brace kit, and ECGS clamshell bushing installed. Got my gears in yesterday and my wheels and tires put together today so Iā€™ll be dropping those off Tuesday. Hopefully the rear and everything else will be done this week maybe early next

Alright big update finally. Got all the suspension components installed and got the truck back this past week. Truck came out great! Had nitro 5.29 gears installed as well. Pretty dang happy with how it came out. Also installed my softopper and put my spare in the bed yesterday. Today Iā€™m installing the hypertech speedometer calibrator. Itā€™s a whole new truck now! Just working on getting prepared now for my long trip home next month

Got my goose gear 40% seat delete installed yesterday. Iā€™m tempted to do the 60% but feel like Iā€™ll need the seats for some reason lol. Maybe one day.

Ever think of one of these?

Saw you had a light and a knuck. :)

Flipped U-Bolt for additional clearance?
Yeah Iā€™ve looked into that panel they make. I still have to mount stuff to the mmp panel on my seat jackers lol. Iā€™m trying not to get to ahead of myself with the cool products lol. And yes thatā€™s an archive unbolt flip. Better clearance and honestly I think it just looks cleaner

What kind of things do you have on your MMP? I have one but I can't find any decent mounts for anything that looks clean.

Nothing yet. I bought a bag of these heavy duty black rubber bands on Amazon for just securing random things. I might mount a tourniquet with one of those there. Iā€™m not one for having a crap ton of stuff mounted around like some folks. I like to keep it kind of minimalist

I'm always thinking of ways to hard mount things. Maybe a magazine pouch for the tourniquet. I think it would look clean. :)

Do the TekLoks fit? I thougth I looked and it didn't seem like it would. I'll have to revisit that. It would make things easier.

Looks like enough of the holes on the actual ā€œholsterā€ part it self should be able to align and mount it securely. Just my guess though

Yeah, I like the idea of being able to move things around. Also finding hardware to not scratch on the inside like firearms if they don't have a channel molded into it. I'll check tonight.

Just finished my three day 2500 mile drive yesterday. Ran solo with my dog. Was long and tiring but happy to be home for a bit. Truck ran great and was averaging between 16-19 mpg surprisingly.

Been a while since I posted on my build page lol. Well as an update, I went to overland expo west in flagstaff. A lot of fun honestly and it was my first expo so it was cool to experience it. While I was out there I decided to go check out the grand canyon. It's wild how big it truly is lol. Wish I had more time to actually explore around it. Lately I've been planning a trip to Colorado. I'm hoping to hit black bear pass and Imogene pass before they close. Been doing some preventative maintenance to the truck to get it ready. Decided to go ahead with the "viper cut" as people call it. Just about no rubbing during regular driving now. I didn't really rub at all while off-roading in Arizona either. Only big rubbing issue I have left is my body mount. It's been chopped but it needs to be redone. Or I'll just go with the DRT fab relocate. I also need to find a shop that can give me a proper alignment. Any shop around where I live right now sucks and doesn't know what they're doing. Anyways, hopefully I can get out to Colorado in time and get some nice pics. For now here's some of the latest pics.
