Manual Transmissions

Has anyone with a manual transmission done either of the following…

1: Clutch Accumulator Delete or Modification?

2: 2WD Low Transfer Case Switch?

I’d like to hear your experiences.

Thank you!

It is really all about reversing with a manual transmission, especially with a trailer.

The 2WD low switch is a wiring harness that plugs inline with the ECU and tricks it allowing you to place the truck into low gear (transfer case) WITHOUT engaging the front axle and 4WD.

The manual transmissions reverse is geared very high! This makes backing up a hill, or with a trailer a pain. One way around is to drop it into the low range on the transfer case, which then also engages 4WD.

Of course 4WD makes steering difficult going slow in reverse.

If you have driven the manual and spend time backing trailers, you will have felt this frustration.

My understanding is someone on the Tacoma World forum came up with it, but is no longer making them. I did find another source, “Aliexpress” but it’s a Chinese knock off and I’m just not so sure about that?

I did also find a wiring schematic, but electrical has never been a strong suit and I’m not too keen on cutting and splicing my factory harness. The one that I can’t find available any longer was a “plug and play” harness.

Still looking. Will update.

Concerning the Clutch Accumulator delete, I found one I liked and hopefully will get it installed in the next few days. Will update on that project as well.

Will be busy in the shop the next few days…

New tires, 60K service, OTT tune going in, and the Clutch Accumulator Delete.

Got ya sound like something I would be interested in since a trailer lives behind mine half of the week mowing.
Accumulator delete is next on mine. Didn’t like any of the options I have found so having a braided brake line made with the correct female for the hard line that comes into the accumulator and a male end that goes directly into the slave cylinder. That’s going to be my route.
Ott tune I have and I’m not completely happy with it. Still rev hangs and still has a dead pedal/lag in first and second at low rpm. Pulling a trailer makes for a rough time pulling out and even worse if it’s on an incline. Trying to get ahold of another guy on here that has bought the full tune capability instead of the flash ( wish I would have). Want to see what it’s all about before I get an update August 1.
Will also be getting new wheels and tires this weekend. I have the S&b intake on mine and an awe tuning full exhaust. 285/75/16 tires runs good and gets 20 mpg.
