Lord Humongous's Tow-coma

My SSO high clearance kit showed up on Tuesday afternoon and I installed it Wednesday morning. Results are awesome! Such a good looking front bumper.

Thanks! I've had the slimline for almost 3 years now. Luckily there new high clearance kit isn't too spendy compared to replacing with a full bumper.
Nice, that's why I like their option. Start with the slimline, then upgrade it latter without fully replacing.

So I bought the Orange Virus Tune about a month ago. I been on the fence about since it came out but decided to give it a try after reading about the gearlock option on their last update . Basically when in S mode the trans will hold what ever gear you put the truck in regardless of load. I'm hoping this will give me a little more control over RPM while towing.
I havent had a chance to tow anything yet but gotta say I'm pretty impressed with the tune as far as how the truck drives. It gets up and goes quicker now with the 35s than it did before with the 255 85s so thank makes me happy.

The wife and I are renting a small teardrop next week just to see how something smaller tows and if we will be comfortable with less space. Can't wait to see how the truck does with gearlock.

Also the glamper is officially for sale!!

We rented a smaller offroad teardrop trailer for the weekend. It was nice to use it but we really wanted to see how something this size pulls compared to current setup before committing to a new build. This little thing pulled so easy! With the OVT gearlock transmission function I was able to pull 5th gear uphill with trans temps in the 160s-170s. We also really liked the smaller trailer as far as camping. We will most likely build something similar in size but organized a little better and sleep in a RTT. All in all awesome weekend in the white mountains!

My wife and I went to Colorado for a few weeks. What an awesome and beautiful place! It was the first trip in a while without the Taco and trailer. I definitely learned I need to have some means of preparing my own food since I hate eating out all the time. Also we would've been better off sleeping on a pile of sand bags than some of the Air BnB beds. While hanging around the Ouray and Silverton area there were big jeeps and toyotas everywhere so it was actually a little painful not having my truck...
This expierence really did lite a fire under my ass to get to work on a smaller expo style trailer. Hopefully we'll have something usable together by May.

I love that area. Thanks for the invite ya big ole jerk! Lol. Looks like a good time!!

With the trailer build on the horizon it's time for some shop upgrades. I needed a 120v compressor for plasma cutting since I only have one 50 amp breaker to the garage. This compressor will get the job done for my needs. Also built a bracket and mounted extension cord and air hose reels. No more winding stuff up at the end of the day!!

Plasma cutter and Bandsaw coming soon. I can't get any kind of precision out of this evolution saw and its deafening even with hearing protection....

Finishing some home improvements just in the nick of holiday time and decided to pick this up today before a 10 percent off coupon I had expired lol. I don't even have time to open now but it will be important for the trailer build as well as some more dumb home mods....

Hell yes dude! Heavy duty bandsaw! Sick. I've got some 3/8's corten steel I need to chop chop

The wife and I got tired of working on the house and took an impromptu trip up to Crown King AZ for some San Tan Galatic IPAs. Allot of snow for an hour outside of Phoenix in November....
Also took advantage of the online black Friday madness and bought a CVA Mt Rainer extended hybrid tent. Couldn't pass up 35 percent off. It will be going on that trailer I keep talking about building....

Right on! I attempted to get to Flag today but there was no way in. Every road, paved and trail was on lockdown.

Gonna do Sunflower mine tomorrow if you're interested. Some good wheeling out there
