Ok I've seen alot about the front bed corners leaking with tri fold covers and caps. Haven't seen any successful way to fix this. I don't want to gob a bunch of silicone on there and it still leak.

@Hellrazor762 OEM Trifold or aftermarket? I've got the OEM and haven't had any issues with leaking corners except for the one time where I drove through a heavy side rain off and on for four hours from Portland. Then again, even with that leak, it was still minimal and I haven't had an issue since.

Aftermarket. It's the bed itself leaking. I can see a 2inch vertical slit of sunlight up in the corners.

Any photos?

Also, depending on where the slit is, would bed stiffeners be a possible viable solution to pull the sides together?

I just filled that bisch up with silicone caulking lol, didn’t care to make it look pretty just went ham till rain didn’t come through anymore. Also put some weather sealant strips along the tailgate side water and dust comes through there, and since it’s in the cap I know I don’t need drain holes took the cubby doors off filled the drain holes in there, the holes on top that close the cubby, and the drain holes underneath the back. I’m going to the store in a bit I’ll grab you pictures

You can definitely do a better job then I did if you care more and put more effort into it but I just didn’t care and went overboard lol

I like your style. That is definitely the same spot mine is leaking. I think I will splurge and get black rtv just to be classy.

silicone will fix everything

You sound like one of the "welders" I inspected. He literally added silicone to cover up the fact that the toe of his weld wasn't in compliance and hoped that I wouldn't look at it closely. He thought the silicone would prevent fuel from leaking into the next compartment

I had the same issue with my stock tri fold when I bought it and with my Alu-Cab Canopy so I used xtra rubberized roof sealant because it was black and it filled the corner holes between the side rail and front rail well. No more leaking.

Silicone works.

Most of the shell installers use butyl rubber. It comes in tools and is very pliable and slightly sticky. You can just stuff it in the gaps (sounds kinky ?) and it doesn't breakdown or shrink.

you can buy the toyota rubber gaslet for the top corners i beleive and i think extang also has them

i used some black closed-cell foam we have at work. stuffed a little cube of it into each corner. silicone would probably work better but this is easily removable if i ever want to remove it.
