Is your Taco a DOG

Hey all. I’m new to the Forum but I want to make my first post about something that is really bothering me. My 21 TACO is a dog. The auto transmission shifts up and down so much I have started to manage my own shifting myself. The truck won’t stay in 6th gear at all. So I mostly drive on the highway in 5th. The slightest little rise in the road or wind sends the truck into 4th constantly. Then in 4th gear it holds speed fine so it upshifts to 5th. As soon as the truck is in 5th gear it bogs down and back to 4th it goes. This happens over and over. So now I just stay in 4th and only shift up to 5th if there is a piece of downhill road. It’s so aggravating it’s ruining my relationship with the truck. Additionally gas mileage sucks. I have a Dodge Ram 3/4 ton diesel that gets better mileage. The engine has been well maintained. With 64,000 miles it has a new set of spark plugs and has regular oil changes. Is this just part of the life of a Taco owner? I have read about similar complaints.

That's why people get a tune. People with automatics are generally very happy with the results. Manuals not as much

I should have mentioned that my truck does have a tune from Big Turtle Tuning.
