Went to update the model of Tyler's camper with these dimensions. Began to scale everything to 1:64.
But I got thrown off by the Hot Wheel dimensions not being a true 1:64 when I began to scale the actual dimensions of a Tacoma to 1:64 to try and keep things proportionate. I think I was able to scale the wheel, tire, Rotopax and 10-11lb propane tank true to 1:64 scale. Then got stuck on how far up and in the wheel wells are. I forgot to mark that. After doing the windows and doors, the scaling seemed off again. Just gonna have to wait to get my hands on one.

The original modeling was done inches : mm. 1 inch = 1 mm and eyeballing.

I have some ideas for some other things. I'll tinker with it in between projects.

This is incredible dude.

Just saw this. Simple but effective, I’d say.

I don't know if they'll be 1/64 scale, but they will fit the Hot Wheels. When I get a hold of one and get them dialed in, I'll print them and they'll be available. I'll probably forget, but will post here. When it's up, just shoot me a message. Thinking about making other small things as I find interest in it.

Just gotta get my hands on one for sizing and one will find it's way to you. I'd have to see what colors I have. You'll probably have to paint some things.
Might try with the measurements I received, but I've had the worst luck with tolerances being off.
Happy to send you one. Send me an email to [email protected]

Do you need more pictures or anything else from me?

Do you need more pictures or anything else from me?
It depends on how accurate you want it to be. Do you have anything done to your Hot Wheel now? Roof rack? Work in the spacing between the camper top of the vehicle while leaving spacing for that. I can do your roof rack too if you don't have one.
Do you care if the camper is solid or want it open on the inside to see into it? Not entirely sure how detailed it would be. I'm having trouble imagining the actual printed size of it. Would you be able to give me dimensions of the camper? I could dial it in from there for accuracy. I couldn't find much of the detailed dimensions of the camper online.

I think this makes sense. These measurements would help. I'll try a different couple prints. Some detail, some more basic and see how it turns out size wise.

Hmmm, rubber washers.

32" Tire, 16" Wheel, 8" Width is basically 12mm OD, 6mm ID, 3mm Thick. 50 for $7.

Buying a rubber washer is easy. Chamfer edges. Wonder if there's an easy way to add tread.
Find a small piece of metal with a pattern on it. Apply heat and roll it to create tire tread patterns.

Just have to find that metal scrap somewhere. Hmmmmm.
Can also print TPU, but have to see how the details are at that size. I've printed small parts before. Just never anything that needed any sort of detail.

And... there I go. Turning every detail of something into a stupid waste of time and money... Wish I wasn't like this.

I think you can turn it into something productive. Find something you can make money at that requires that type of attention to detail.

I'm too swamped with unfinished projects. Tough customer base and with how I am, I'd never make money. Attention to detail is the death of me. I'd focus on the dumbest detail and sink time into it. I'd do it to feel accomplished and I wouldn't ask someone to compensate me for that time. My start to finish times are ridiculous for basic projects.

I haven’t done this in a while so today I decided to grab a few that fit my ‘credentials’ if you will.

I love the colors on the Toyota van and I love the AMC Eagle in general.

I like the styling on the Hummer EV and I feel like this might be a cool one to have in 50 years from now. I wasn’t expecting the… skateboard moulded into the bed though!

Part of my ‘credentials’ is that I don’t usually buy anything unrealistic. This guy is an exception because another ‘credential’ of mine is that I’ll usually take anything GM squarebody and this one is cute.

I just came across this page that is about to turn this into an obsession for me. There’s stuff on that page that I haven’t been able to remember for like 25 years.

I went on a bit of a binge last night. Allow me to spam you with other screenshots, some of which blew my mind because I haven’t seen them in years.

Would be awesome to see this done as the truck from Twister.
Crazy you say that. I had that green one and I would actually pretend it was the truck from Twister and sometimes the truck from Walker Texas Ranger.

I’m wondering if I could convert the short bed Hot Wheels truck into a long bed by cutting the long bed section and frame off the Matchbox truck and splicing it into the Hot Wheels truck. Then sand and paint and bam, a long bed?

Just saw this. A long bed. No wonder me converting measurements kept getting thrown off. Now it makes sense. Didn't realize it was a long bed. 🙁

Just got this done and spent more time than I wanted. Then realized long bed.

How are they in size and do they scale correctly with each other?
You'd probably need to modify the base as well.
Maybe cut the base and extend it. Definitely check out 3D print pens, wood burners with different tips and variable heat, also Bonic plastic welder.
Maybe I could just print a full bed for you. That way you could just cut the bed off and replace it. Won't be metal though. :(
To cut the diecast, you'll want to hunt down the finest, strongest saw blade. Then even cut with excess and file down to fit.
71U0yDQJzOS._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg

Once together, I would Bondo Glazing Putty it and shape it how they design cars. Sand. Paint.
I wanted to honge the hood. So I looked into all of this.
Might just settle for just removing the hood scoop.

After actually printing stuff, I found it's way too tiny to get it clean or have much detail for FDM. Gonna check into STL printing.
I think my Rock Sliders came out better than other offerings out there. Also have a slight angle up and upgraded the mounting point. Instead of the standard 3 stems, I went for a full mounting point.

I think I want to throw together a lift kit. The ones available know are sort of silly IMO. They either have leaf springs or supports that aren't on Tacomas. So gonna go for something more real.

Test printed the camper. Forgot to widen the top section above the bed. Then when I corrected that, I cut upwards the wheel well height and not the side of the bed. Gonna adjust that tonight. It'll be the height of the first pic, then width of the second once seated correctly.

Bumper was a major fail. Redid the rock sliders from scratch.

Prototype Lift Kit - Easy install. Remove wheels. Snip fins flush and glue.
Way bulkier than I thought. Putting it on a diet and gonna try out a skid plate.

Cleaned it up. Beefed up the rock sliders so they don't snap. Everything is getting dialed in. Worked in a skid plate. Smoove. This is without glue.

This stuff is SO cool. You’re really good at this, and thanks for doing it. I’m loving all of it so far.

New truck (car?) today because why not.

I guess I should buy or make some type of display shelf.

Did a soft topper, rock sliders, lift kit, roof rack and have it mostly dialed in now.

File I found for the bumper just wasn't good for tiny printing. Had to start over from scratch.

This should be good.
