Don’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings with this, but a front bumper is on the bottom of my priorities. Right now I’m looking to get a rear high clearance bumper and then regear to 5.29 with a front locker.

That being said, I already have a winch and am looking at my mounting options. Since I won’t have a front bumper, “hidden winch mounts” will be what I need. Anyone using one care to chime in on what you have and how you like it. A quick Google search is showing me these:

Don’t know anything about the first link. The CBI is much less than the SDHQ, but why? Hmm...

I can't speak for the CBI, but compared to ours, it is missing support brackets and such. Ours appears to have a more "boxed" design and there are no points on the winch mount that are not gussetted/supported by another. We will have one on display at CA Offroad Expo at Pomona on 9/29-9/30

Do you not have the stock bumper anymore? I asked cause the price of the hidden winch mounts, you’re in the ballpark for a hybrid bumper that replaces the chin piece.

That’s the route I’m going. Offers a little more protection but keeps that factory look.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and have been "lurking" around the posts to familiarize myself with the site. I own a 2018 Tacoma and I'm a beginner in truck modifications. My family and I bought the truck so we could spend more time exploring. Nothing like rock-climbing or anything, but definitely want to equip the truck with the ability to get out of any trouble. That said, and as relates to this post, I've been eyeing a Lo-Pro Winch Bumper. I had not seen the 'Hidden Bumper' option. So as it relates to this forum, does anyone have experience with a Lo-Pro Winch Bumper option? I live in AZ and would like to find a local shop that would offer these and install, so any of those recommendations would be welcome as well.

When you say 'hybrid bumper', are you referring to, perhaps, a Lo-Pro Winch Bumper?

Like the one from C4?

He is referring to one like that, yes. You could also look at the SSO Slimline which is a similar alternative.

A hidden winch mount would allow you to maintain the stock bumper look but have a winch behind it. There difference between the two would really just be your personal preference on how it looks.
