Hey folks, I'm looking for a good solution to provide USB power to my back seat. We are heading out on vacation and will be driving about 10-12 hours there and the same coming home.

I want to be able to provide power for three tablets for when the kids bored so I don't have to explain myself to the police when they start fighting. :)

I think my easiest solution is to run some wire straight off the battery with a fuse, so it charges their tablets even if the truck is stopped for when we are at a restaurant, etc.

You can also reroute the 12v aux inside the center console or tap into it and install a USB port on the back of the console

Nice! Now the only question is...are you going to just route it around and then velcro/tape to the back of console or cut through and mount that way.

I would plug it into the front 12v aux (since it has USB on the socket as well) tuck the wire under the side of the console draw it to the back and velcro / or tape to the side of the console between seat and console so it's out of the way from being knocked by passengers

^ Yep, plan is to mount so it's tucked out of the way. Two teenagers and a 4 year old aren't the most cautious with anything, so I don't want them tearing it up/off/stepping on it if I don't mount it somewhere.
