When is a diff drop required/needed?

I just had the carrier bearing drop kit installed when I had the Dakars added. From what I hear it's anything over a 2" lift may need it to stopp vibrations. I'm not a mech though.

Thanks, but I was referring to the front diff. Was wondering when it should be done and if you are creating other problems down line.

I actually just removed my diff drop a couple weeks ago. I've seen to many threads of the negative effects of them.

The drop kits actually rotates the diff more than they actually drop it which could possibly cause dry bearings and the drop will cost you an inch of ground clearance.
