I was installing some LED bulbs in my vanity mirrors with the truck on and (like an idiot) used a metal tool and like a bad game of Operation, I touched the metal on metal and instantly my vanity lights and other interior lights shut off and haven’t been on since. My truck still turns on and does everything else just fine, but these lights are completely off. Instead of running to the dealer crying, I decided to run to you guys and gals crying. Please help! Is this a pricey warranty-voiding incident or just a little fix? My anxiety thanks you in advance.

How do I go about checking the fuses? Where are they located? What do I do once I find them? How do I “check” them? Sorry for all the questions folks, noob here

There should be a fuse puller and spare fuses under the lid if not check the one in the engine bay, make sure the truck is off (probably best to keep the smart key away from the truck), pull the fuse. picture below will let you know what to look for.

I checked it out and there’s no spare fuses or tool to pull fuses. I’m going to get an extra fuse ASAP and check it out. I appreciate you guys helping me out because this has had me worried

That's what forums are for. Just remember when working with electricity to disconnect the power source.

Good thing there's no OSHA standard for working on your own vehicles, they might have taken your truck away.

I purchased a 2020 TRD off-road and like many people decided to upgrade the interior lights to LED. I ordered some leds off Amazon and proceeded to replace the Vanity, Maps, Dome, and the 2 license plate lights. Of course along the way I had to do the 180 reverse polarity thing a few times but all in all it worked well. Here is the pickle.....I have both the map, and dome turned to the "door icon" when I walk up the the truck the proximity sensor fires the interior lights up, when I walk away they fade down. When I enter the vehicle the lights fire up, and if I sit there for a moment (7.5secs I set it to) they will fade out. Perfect!

However!....when I put my foot on the brake (the lights fire up) and start the truck the interior lights do not fade away and turn off...they stay on now? Why is that? My dash brightness knob still works ( read a thread where someone said check that) and I can still adjust the dash brightness, and no warning lights to speak of.

Did I fry the ECU? I have checked the ecu acc 7.5amp fuse and it is fine. I replaced everything back to OEM and now my MTS/CRAWL and roof buttons do not work...though the map lights do same issue though as above)..another weird thing when i move the MTS dial to the middle pos..the map lights go out (if I turn them on) what did I fry?!

Any assistance is appreciated!
