Hello all -

I am tired of dragging out my portable ARB compressor with tank to air-up my tires. It requires me to pop the hood of my truck, make the electrical connections, etc. then get going. What I would like to do it remove it from the hardened case, re-locate the air tank to somewhere more useful, out of the way, run some new air hose and have it all buttoned up nicely.
Has anyone disassembled one of these units for re-configuration? I am running a 2017 Tacoma Long Bed 4x4 and plan to mound inside the bed with other details TBD.

Thanks!
Jeff

ARB Twin High Performance Portable Compressor - 12V

Mountain Off-road makes a under hood mount for both the pump and tank. The only catch is you have to replace the direct connect with a 90 degree one.

Since you have a '17 you have both bed cubbies, correct? What about that compressor mount for the driver side box? That might be the cleanest way to mount one that big

Yep - I’ve disassembled the ARB kit and am using the larger cubby for the compressor. The tank I’ve mounted underneath the compressor, worked out fine. Purchased some custom air hoses and ran the air port to my rear bumper. Last night I did a test run, no leaks or issues. Almost done

I have mounted the air port, switch, compressor and tank. Still need to run the electrical

That's almost $1k for the setup up. Who are you people?
Are you guys the people on House Hunters?

I'm a professional napkin folder and in my spare time I am inventor. Currently I am creating a guard to keep cooking oil from dropping onto your toenails. My budget is $4.8 million dollars.

How big is that tank? The twin is so fast I wouldn't think that would be necessary unless the tank is really big.

Hi - it is the original tank from ARB’s portable setup, 1 gal. I reused it, mounted underneath the trucks bed cubby on driver side.

A tank would be useful if you have anything air powered, like a horn or locker, though. But yeah, that twin is going to be really fast.
