• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

So I had just installed my new setup in the front and I was thinking about the diff drop kit, well I learned I needed it the hard way.
My pasenger side CV is making a horrible grinding noise, now i need to replace it. theres 3 options:

1) go OEM, lube it and take it up the a hole
2)cheap out and buy a generic one
3) rebuild my current CV

Does anyone know what the best option is or if there is any "upgraded" CV i can look at that are around the same price as the OEM ones.

I guess this goes to show, a $50 dollar diff drop can save alot of money and stress.

*UPDATE*

Pulled off the tire to make sure i wasnt crazy, The retention ring holding the center cap of the wheel came loose and sounded like a messed up CV.
I can breathe now
