Purchased my Taco 7 months ago. Adding minor mods as I go. A 2” spacer + 1” block was added to fit the new wheels on 285/70r17’s. Minor trimming of plastic required and front mudguard removed to eliminate the occasion rubbing. Although I’ve been satisfied with the stance and the height I’m not loving the stiff ride. I’m also noticing backend sag when the bed is loaded up.

To correct the issues, I’ve picked up Bilstien 5100’s front/rear, OME 888 coils, and an Icon 1.5” rear add-a-leaf expansion pack. Hopefully, removing the spacers and installing the new parts will improve the ride and functionality.

I’m looking for suggestions. I don’t have the tools or space to complete the installation. Is anyone able to recommend some shops in the Orange County, CA area that could do the install? If not, I’ll just go out and buy the jack, stands, and tools needed to do the job. Thanks!

Really good looking truck. I think you'll be very happy with the suspension set up that you're looking at, with the exception of the add-a-leaf. You may be happier with a full leaf back from icon versus dakar springs.

Thank you, Biohazard. I trust you’re right and really thought about those options when searching leaf spring alternatives I went with the expansion pack to minimize cost (son needs a car). I may regret it and upgrade to a Dakar full leaf pack at a later date. I appreciate your feedback.

Hello and welcome to Tacoma3g!

I know the feeling about the spacers. I started with that as well. Looked cool but the ride suffered. Hopefully someone here can point you in the right direction for a shop

I originally installed ICON Stage 4 , which included the same 1.5in progressive AAL.

I loved it and it treated me well, even with a KBVOODOO bed rack and roof top tent.

The only reason why I upgraded to a full ICON RXT leaf pack was because I installed a steel high-clearance rear bumper with dual swingout.

Unless you plan on going that route, the ICON AAL will treat you very nicely! Enjoy. Feel free to message me with questions or follow my Instagram @JWIZZMASTERWET for build advice.

Thank you JWIZZMASTERWET! I don’t plan on going that heavy, but it’s great to hear what the 1.5 AAL can handle. I appreciate the great feedback.

Finally finished the suspension upgrade! Bilstein 5100 shocks, Old Man Emu 888 2” lift coils, Icon Delta Joint Tubular Upper Control Arms, and Icon 1.5” Add-A-Leafs. #bilstein5100 #ome888 #ivdsuspension #iconuca

Thank you, Tacobeltran! The ride has noticeably improved compared to the lift spacers. I’ll test the new set up off pavement over the weekend. So far the Taco’s impressively absorbing the speed bumps. 😂
