1️⃣ Getting Started...
Hello all, was curious as to what the community says about what brand of battery are you guys running in your Taco, does the region of where I live matter as well??? Being in Houston TX for those who live in TX know, even in cold winter the next day can be hot, so that being said, what are you guys running for power under the hood???

I usually get the AutoZone Duralast Gold. Primarily because they are readily available in my area. In the Arizona heat our batteries usually fail without warning. I am not sure they are the best but when your battery is dead you get the one that is in stock. In the Arizona heat none of the brands seem to last very long.

Same with DG but they always fail in 2y. Warranty gets you a free one which is cool, but it's cooler to not have to deal with it.

My factory battery actually died this morning after just over 4 years. Never had anything last more than 2.5 years here in AZ so I just went to Toyota and grabbed another. Was in and out of the dealer in about 10 min and swapped it in the parking lot. New one has 84-month warranty - 100% covered for first 2y and then it starts dropping off.

I told myself I would get an AGM, in which case X2/Northstar is the best with the proper ECU tune for them.. but I really didn't need an AGM.

You will not see the added benefits you pay for with an AGM with the stock charging system.
You will you just either need to tune the truck to beef up the normal charging voltage or run it on a charger every so often. All the benefits will still be there, it just won't be able to be fully charged it an above method isn't taken.
