Anyone found any interior fire extinguisher solutions they like?

I had one mounted under the seat in my cars the past, and the wife and I both disliked them for a variety of reasons. I've since mounted them in the bed(s) of the truck(s) with a QuickFist Nozzle Clamp and a T-slot nut, which works great. Not theft-resistant but it hasn't been a problem in the last 6+ years running them this way in our Tacos. If you have a tubular bed rack or bed bars, there are lots of great ways to mount them to tubes as well.

Thanks to those who have mentioned our product The Bracketeer. I designed it for myself after putting out four car fires ... people wanted to buy it, so it ended up being a nice business. It is now the number one selling car fire extinguisher bracket in the world.

It fits pretty much anything, including Tacoma ... Here's a review and pics that we got this week that pretty much says it all:

"This is exactly what I needed! Bolts onto Tacoma seat bolts without any issue! The bracket is so versatile it'll work on almost any car/truck. Honestly might buy a few more for other items too since I'm sure I can mount just about anything on these. Assembly out of the box was super easy too. I'm very impressed."

I have just set up a discount on our website for members if tacoma3g ... Go to www.thebracketeer.com and use the code "Tacoma" at checkout and you will get 20% off!

I keep mine in the bed mounted to the rail with a Drake automotive quick release mount. I don't store it in the cab due to the possibility of it becoming a projectie or someone making contact with it.

Same here, seen and have had it happen to me in the past multiple times. I just clamp it to my bed rack bar. I do see the benefits of having it close to you in the cab, however I’m done with cleaning 02, halon, and purple K for now. Especially in my personal vehicle

I made a dog/storage platform for the back seat of my Access Cab and mounted the extinguisher to the base of the back seat with some bolts and fender washers (in the storage cubby). It sits under the platform and out of sight. It’s been here for almost 2 years now with no issues. I used the mount that came with the extinguisher.

Just keep in mind, a lot of forces are play in an accident. The last thing you want is a heavy fire extinguisher coming loose anywhere near your head.

In front of the front seat is a great spot to get to it quickly. Also I recommend a full sized, no one when putting out a car fire wished they had a smaller extinguisher

If a 3 pounder wont do the trick you'd be better off burning it down. It will be way easier to total and lighter to tow away that way (y)

Personally I'd save the extinguisher for trees and bushes. You don't want your truck to be responsible for starting a wild fire.
