First off, glad I found this forum. I have read a couple other Tacoma forums and none of them seemed to be my speed. Spent the last couple days lurking around here and signed up!
I had been driving a combination of VW's, STI's, and an S4 since 1997. We had our son in March of 2019 and while the Golf R I had at the time was fine, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head that if some a-hole in an F-150 was texting and hit us, my infant son probably wouldn't fare too well. The Tacoma was the only thing that interested me.
That October (2019) we went to the Toyota dealer where I had some friends and looked around. I didn't know much/anything about them at the time. Long story short, I ended up getting an awesome deal on a Voodoo Blue TRD Pro.
Coming up on two years of ownership and this has been my favorite of all the vehicle I've had. Been off-road a few times (not as many as I'd like), done things I couldn't do with a car and basically enjoyed not having to watch for every pothole or imperfection in the road.
Truck is pretty much stock except for little things like tires, HID's, LED lights here and there, tonneau cover, coil packs, etc.
Looking forward to getting new ideas on how best to keep having fun and making the truck more "mine" as the years go on.
