    SmartCap is allegedly working on a solution but not holding breath on a solution. I personally dont need that option.

    SmartCap. Fiberglass are not "trail rated" but manufactuers spool up rating to sell them. SmartCap are rugged off road made to do whatever you want to do. Pay now or pay later. Regardless get what you need not but looks cool.

    I just did mine about six months ago. Cut the bolt make sure you buy two new ones and put them through the other way. It's a Toyota approved modification. Makes the job a lot easier.

    I have been driving off-road since the 70s and have had many different makes of 4 x 4 vehicles and all manuals say do not engage four-wheel-drive for hiway use. There's nothing wrong with your truck it's how you were using it.

    I honestly have never noticed the sound of my tires on any vehicle. I do know in the mountains early in the morning when people used to run snow tires was kind of cool to hear those things coming up the hill.

    I would suggest at the very least bed stiffners before you load the thing up. Also be prepared for cracking and extreme flexing if not rated for that load. Most are not designed for rooftop tents.

    Have had them since they first came out with Toyo AT3 265 70 17. Works perfect. Was considering 255 80 17 next but E rated a nogo on a midsize. Fullsize all day long.

    I’m not gonna agree with you on airing down in an SL being a problem. I do it all the time and my method wheels have a beadlock design I have yet to worry about it. You don’t need to be E rated to air down. That is a myth..
