• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

How to manage added rear weight on a stock suspension?

^^ thanks for the help!! i think the AAL is the way to go since it'll add height and help with weight. any brand you would go with?

How to manage added rear weight on a stock suspension?

Air bags are expensive and seem like a pain. I was thinking a Hellwig helper spring (model #980), or a single AAL (i like the build of the HS 3 leaf AAL but they recommend changing the rear shocks as well). Open to other ideas or opinions on the options stated above! thanks

How to manage added rear weight on a stock suspension?

All, I have a '17 TRD OR DC LB with a stock suspension. I have a decked drawer system, and just installed a ARE shell. With that added weight, a full tank of gas, basic recovery gear and other stuff that never leaves my truck, it sits about level right now. I will be doing a lot of camping this...

    Off-road recovery gear

Nice work! I like the organization. I still need a compressor... what do you have? would you recommend it?

What oil are you running and what intervals are you changing it at?

I did 5k, 10k, then every 10k after that. I'm am at 39k now and at 40 I will be doing in by myself with an OEM filter and Mobil 1 oil. Also replacing the filter cap to the metal one.

Suspension lift this fall. Camper shell on this week. Building a custom rack for the shell mainly for fly rods, tools, fire wood, plano box for recovery gear. And I'm sure more to follow

We all love our trucks, but what made you buy it in the first place?

I always had big diesel trucks for hauling horses. Once I graduated college I didn't need it anymore. In comes the taco. I moved to idaho and needed an outdoors capable rig
