• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Maybe one of you guys on this thread can help me. I've been trying to use Gaia to find good offroad routes around norcal and nevada. The one thing that bugs me a bit about Gaia, is I can't often distinguish if a public track/route was hiked, biked or driven. It would be cool to start a...

    Cow Mountain

@TacoHog ... Never followed up on this, but I did go back! This time I entered from the Ukiah side and just after a ton of rain. It was a messy day. I was washing off mud for over an hour once I got home. A few lessons learned: 1) Need some recovery boards if I'm ever going to do this...

Reference Ask a beginner question, get a serious answer!

When does weight become a concern? My truck is relatively stock still other than a Toytec 3" lift + leafpack and some bigger tires. I'm about to start adding some weight though. 1) Tonneau (Bakflip), 2) Prinsu Rack, 3) bed bars and an RTT tent on those. 4) bolt on Sliders Unlikely to...

Best tie-down / cargo strap options?

Having now lugged around cargo in the back of my tacoma at least 20 or 30 times, I'm becoming very frustrated every time I try to secure the load: Ratchet Straps: Inevitably my load is always too small for these to work effectively. And yet I have to go through the process of unwinding them...

Reference Ask a beginner question, get a serious answer!

Others may have a different point of view, but I ended up saving a lot of money getting the TRD-Offroad and a custom lift + tires & wheels + TRD Pro grill. With the exception of missing the Pro hood scoop, I think my truck looks way better now than what I would have gotten had I purchased a...

    First major mod

Finally cleaned it up and took some proper photos. The lift & wheels took all my 'slush fund money' for the year. Likely need to put some distance between now and next mod, but I'm thinking Sliders are pretty important. I don't want to get over confident with my near ground clearance.

There is a site out there called "https://www.customwheeloffset.com/" which does an ok job at collecting people's experiences with different wheels/tires/lift combos. You effectively search for your rig and wheel info, and it brings up similar configurations from real folks who've posted. Incase...

Good Tacoma Tire/Lift Shop in the North Bay/Marin?

I ended up going to SWAT Customs. Very impressed with their work, and they know Tacomas very well.

    Cow Mountain

@TacoHog. I tried to get into South Cow Mountain a few weeks ago after they said they had opened from COVID, but it was still closed. Which entrance did you approach from? Also, any specific routes you would recommend once there?

    First major mod

I wanted to introduce myself as I plan on prepping my 2019 TRD Offroad for plenty of camping and over landing in the western US. I'm out of Northern California and always looking for new trails and road trip opportunities. Just got my new wheels/tires/lift installed yesterday. (see...

Good Tacoma Tire/Lift Shop in the North Bay/Marin?

Thanks @Inferno510 . Out of curiosity, what wheels & tires did you go with, and what lift? Your setup looks awesome!

Good Tacoma Tire/Lift Shop in the North Bay/Marin?

Hey All, I have a stock 2019 Tacoma Offroad and I'm overwhelmed with the number of different lift/leveling/tire/wheel combinations that are possible. Can anyone recommend a shop in the North Bay that actually has some experience lifting tacoma's? I know this sounds simple of me, but I...
