FINALLY got my '23 Taco on Friday 8/11 and excited have it! Put the deposit down on the truck which was allocated to the stealership. Got ceramic window tint over the weekend including clear on the windshield. I must say the tint definitely seems to keep the heat out. Could actually breathe when hopping in this afternoon after several hours in the sun.

For some reason, I thought the blackout package included the rear bumper. Anyone know if Toyota makes the rear bumper corners in black?

Am getting the bed mat and all-weather floormats. Not sure yet on a bed cover. I had one that rolled up on my '17 and liked that one. Not sure if I like the predator steps, but they will definitely do for now. I had a different one on my '17.

Planning the AWE true dual exhaust and probably an open intake of some kind. Possibly the TRD beadlock wheels in black. Really enjoying being back in a Taco!

Welcome.

Ceramic tint is life.

The only way to get the caps to not be chrome from toyota on the newer trucks is to add the tech package which puts the backup sensors with the painted caps on there. Tacovinyl does painted replacement rear caps though: https://tacovinyl.com/products/standard-tacoma-bumper-caps

An intake doesn't do much for power on this platform since it's already a CAI stock, but can help make the truck feel smoother and increase throttle response. If you change it, make sure whatever you get has an airbox so you're not sucking in hot engine air or the performance can actually decrease.

Real nice!!

Congrats! The first thing I did was ceramic tint on mine as well.
Definitely replace the chrome on the back bumper just looks out of place on the black truck.
I have mixed feelings with AWE, both my Raptor and my RS had small leaks where the clamp goes and it is kinda annoying to pay so much when it leaks still.

Get the bumper covers and include the Pro Grill (with Matt Black Letters) from Taco Vinyl when you make the order.

Get the intake from Toyota

Everything works and that is a good thing!
Congrats on the truck!

Congrats. I am contemplating a CAI or a snorkel. I already purchased the snorkel (great deal from Expedition Overland - XO), just don't know if I want to cut a huge hole in my fender yet.

Thank you and was considering the Rough Country intake:

definitely looks like a nice grill to add to my truck to further complete the blacked out theme!

Thank you for the tip! The guy that did my ceramic tint does wraps and said he could do mine. Would be good to have replacements already done which Toyota SHOULD jump on board with. Question is: attitude black or matte black?

Have heard the TRD intake does little to nothing and heard the TRD exhaust is nothing special.

pretty sure this would be the grill I need which is the one without sensor

I see the TOYOTA lettering and would guess satin black for the color

found a code TACOVINYL10 which I think gives 10% off..

EDIT: looking under the hood, I do have the sensor

For bumperettes, whatever matches IMO.

For TRD intake/exhaust, correct, they both won't do much. None of the other intakes do either, regardless of what the marketing says. But an intake with a cone filter in the engine bay is worse than stock since it's then not a CAI anymore. I'm very happy with my K&N JR + TRD Accelerator intake setup. Much cheaper than TRD but all of the benefits, if not more due to a better tube design.

For the price of the knockoff grilles, just get an OEM one, theyre not expensive and much better build quality. Where they gouge you now is on the garnish. If you have a good wrap guy, have him wrap a knockoff garnish in a 30-50% tint film and it will almost exactly mimic the OEM garnish look for a fraction of the price.

I feel like attitude black would be best for the bumperettes if that is the painted black color

pic from the Taco Vinyl website of what I think is the satin bumperettes to give an idea of the contrast against the middle part of the bumper

EDIT: matte, not satin

You can get the factory painted black replacement bumper caps. Idk the part number right now, but I have also seen them on ebay as well. I have chrome bumpers too and am looking to change them to Barecelona red to match the rest of my truck.

anyone know how this works?

1692635511799.png

I actually thought this was added to my truck and am checking to find out why it is not

I see the add-on and am not sure how difficult it would be to add

thank you, the TRD Sport that was at the stealership when I first put the deposit down on my TRD OR had that feature and pretty sure the salesguy told me my truck would have it

maybe it is not standard on the TRD OR or maybe it was added to the truck he showed me coincidentally

It's not standard on any Tacoma's. I could write a book about all the things that should be standard on these that aren't. Oh well, modding and adding features is fun.

Let's play a game. Things that should be standard on Taco's.
I'll start...
Hood struts.

got my all-weather floormats today and am going to get the rubber bed mat hopefully this week

Just got the same one last week, no sidesteps but with the TRD skid plate instead. First thing I did was buy matte black bumper covers and swap out the taillights and side mirror blinkers.

do you have pics of the bumper covers?

considering having them change my order to "attitude black" which I think is body color though they do cost more

trying not to overdo it with the matte black so it is a good blend

I got my from Extreme Terrain, just because I've ordered from them before for my Wrangler. The covers come with 2 strips of 3m double sided tape on each that I didn't opt to use. Just went through the car wash a couple hours ago and they're still in place.

If you follow that link, they have tons of photos of people's trucks with them installed. You can find black Tacomas with both matte and body colored so you can compare. I opted for matte to fit with the rest of the bumper. I don't think the body colored black looks bad though.

thank you, will see what I can find

called Taco Vinyl and had them invoice me for the body color bumper corners rather than matte which is going to take a little longer since they have to have them painted

looking forward to getting everything put on, thank you everyone for your help!

looking at getting replacement TRD Off Road 4x4 decals and looks like Taco Vinyl has those as well though it is extra for matte

1692927840804.png

trying to get away from the silver and go with something darker to blend in

I like the look of them, but would rather have them in matte black or dark gray so mostly noticable up close

would be better if they were the individual lettering rather than the clear decal, but seeing what they have

maybe these

anyone have experience with this?
Black looks good on Gun Metal and light colors
If you go black on black it may not even be seen

Also if you remove the stock decal try to just peel it without heat,..or low heat.... it will leave less glue residue.
