• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Guess it’s happening. Time to locate my Dremel and heat gun.

Box cutter would definitely come in handy, but gotta use the dremel. Have to use that bad boy every chance I get to justify buying it in the first place. Poor tool barely gets any love.

Lol fair

I was kinda kidding but not. I used a box cutter but no source of heat. Just cut it out

Am I wrong in thinking a Dremel is actually a gateway drug?

Picked up a new toy this past weekend. Taco pulled it pretty damn good. Also, put in a 1 inch block in the rear to give it a bit of rake. Even though level, looking at it felt nose high, and it bugged the crap out of me. Hahaha

Today’s haul, courtesy of Craigslist. Looking forward to getting these bed stiffeners and Meso turn signals on.

Translation: The wife wasn't as upset about the spending and you're now considering an ovtune or supercharger :)

Seriously though that grill looks so good with all the pro components on it. Unreal. Enjoy man! Love the soft top in the back too.

Thanks man! It’s been fun to build out.
mans translation is correct, OVTune will be making an appearance in the near future for sure.

any updates on your build? When do you get it shipped?

It's just about done. Finally getting those wheels, tires, mounted and aligned and that's it! So should finally be this month. Will post some pics in my builds thread with all the final updates :)

Guess I’ll be needing some armor before I try some more.

Brooooo! You went in! haha yes, plz get some plates before you hurt that beautiful truck you've built! :)

Looks awesome on the rocks like that though!

Was quite nerve racking but had a blast. The front skid did its job, and got a few scratches here/there, plus some trail brush. Otherwise, no real damage which I was super happy about. Will also need to consider more lift as well 😂

Which flash did you go with? and is it still no shift points / transmission map yeah?

Someone local was able to tune the truck. I put the 2.0 tune, 87 octane with improved throttle response. I have to give it some more time to “learn” the driving style, but initial impressions are good!

Nice! Coming from a wrangler, I'm still fine with the factory tune for now :D

My faux Pro is coming together with its next add on. TRD exhaust. Gotta say it sounds great. Not too loud and no drone, so wife approved!
