• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Hey all,

I wish I would’ve found this site sooner. I was just banned from another forum for spam? Not sure why but that is ok with me.

bottom line up front .. I’ve own 3 tacos, 2 x 1st gens and 1 x 3rd ( 2017 white Trd pro )

my truck is extremely modded out but unfortunately it was just declared a total loss due to frame damage.. luckily there was very little cosmetic damage. My rear tire/ wheel was smashed into that caused a chain reaction resulting in drive train damage and a diamond frame.

I am looking to part out my truck ASAP to get cash for a new toyota.

I plan on posting a part out sale list in the next day or so.

Well welcome to Tacoma3g.

Sorry to hear about the truck. Sucks putting a ton of time and effort and $ into something to have to turn around and start over.

Truck did look good though!

Hey Mike, welcome to T3G. I’m glad you managed to find us!

It does really suck about your truck, but like you said, at least there wasn’t cosmetic damage and you can part it out. We have a lot of people here that would probably be interested in your parts when you post them up.

So, will you be buying another Tacoma or something else?

So I’m pretty torn as to what my plans are for a new rig.. I also own a 1997 Ford F-250 7.3 power stroke that I may consider turning into a towing/camping rig. If I do that I would be looking to build out a 1st or second gen and make it a dedicated off road truck.

Or I might just buy another third gen.
I put so much time into this build It has made me a little nervous to jump right back into a pull blown build. So I may lean more towards small camping trailer for the RTT and other camping crap and then do a mild build on the Taco. Either way, it’s time for more research!

That truck is beautiful. As a long-time and diehard fan of old squarebody and similar trucks from those eras, especially crewcabs, I would use the hell out of that thing for camping.

I’m supposed to say you should buy another 3rd gen Taco. But I’d actually rock that OBS, 100%.
