• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

I know I'm late, but welcome to the forum. That custom fab work is great -- I wish I knew how to do that. What made you switch out your wheels so soon after the first time? You planning to run a spare tire on the rear bumper?

yeah I want to add spare tire mount, jack mounting, and then a rotopaX storage box on the drivers side.

I got a sheet of stainless steel to make a foldn down table. But I am not sure if I till add that.. I am thinking about saving it for a different project, overland trailer build...

And after trailer is done, I am going to do a high clearance rear bumper.

That sounds cool. Would you build the overland trailer on an existing chassis like an old military trailer, or are you planning to do the whole thing from scratch?

I bought a small boat trailer from a yardsale.. I am taking the axle and suspension from it.. And building the frame from square tubing...so I guess yeah mostly from scratch..
I am still in the planning stages of the trailer. I am gonna finish my swingout first
