Hey all.

New here! Hubs bought a 2016 long bed TRD off road 4x4 this past year and is currently deployed. Would love to do/get something awesome for the truck to surprise him upon his return. I have a few months.

We recently got a LEER camper shell, but that's not a surprise to him. The man loves grilling, camping and off roading. Suggestions welcome and appreciated!

THANKS!

Fair question! Maybe $1k. The rooftop tent idea is awesome, but I think he plans on sleeping in the camper.

This is awesome! I would say tires! They always make the truck look much beefier for off roading. Also, maybe a little darker tint for the front windows? Tint could go a long way for overall look for the truck and that's not too expensive.

Immediately googles rock sliders...ha. Thanks!! These are all great suggestions. I know for sure he wants tires but I forget the kind he showed me that he was interested in.

I would say:

Rock sliders
On board air
Front or rear bumper
Bed storage system

All solid options for the outdoors type.

AirBedz $200. Since you have the shell already and a long bed. Since he's deployed he's going to want to spend some "alone time" with you. Not crazy price plus deflates and you can still use the truck easily.

AWESOME I was just researching sleeping pads last night - thanks for this

For those who said tires - thoughts on KO2s? I think that’s what he’s looking into

I have ko2’s and I think they’re great. Held up to anything I’ve put them through so far.
