• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Hi guys,

My name is Wyatt and I have always loved Toyota trucks and SUVs. My first car in highschool was a black '03 extended cab off road packaged prerunner with a matching shell. Sadly, once I started college I found MPG to be the most important feature for me in an everyday car so I swapped for a lowly prius (which was still a great car in it's own way).
Anyways, fast forward a few years and I was able to get back into a Taco! Toyota offers a special lease program to their empoyees and it worked out to be the best value through the empoyee program for me to start with a base 2018 SR 4x4 and then add on all the goodies. So, while it is the SR trim package, it has Predator step sides, TRD exhaust and other performance parts, roof rack, all weather mats, and all the bed accessories including the powder coated bed divider (an underated item). The lease ends in almost exactly a year, and while I am not able to make any modifications until the lease it up, I am already trying to start the plans for my build. The first couple things I will be looking to do are new wheels/tires, finder flares, and a front grill. I'm excited to be part of this great community and collaborate with other Taco lovers!

Thanks!

-Wyatt

Hello and welcome. I rock the sr5 because it was my plan from the get go. They all have lots of potential! Sounds like you have a good list of mods in mind ??

Howdy! What part of Toyota are you employed with?

So I don’t actually work for toyota personally, I just have an immediate family member who works on the continuous improvement side of parts distribution.

A couple more pictures...

Time for a new adventure partner! As much as I loved the workhorse that was the SR and had grown especially attached during some crazy COVID adventures (including a roll in the snow [see posts in comment below]), an upgrade was in order! Meet the newest addition to my crew!... a dirty-blonde bombshell that is the Quicksand TRD Off-Road!
Many more pictures in cool places to come, but for now if anyone in the North Dallas area has some tips on good trails to check out, please let me know in the comments!

So right as all the self-quarantining and social distancing stuff due to coronavirus started I was moving out of my apartment in California to move to Texas for a new job. With no home and no job for the next few weeks, I figured a roadtrip through virtually empty National and State Parks would be perfect!

Stop 1: Big Sur, CA

2: Yosemite, CA

Today didn’t start out great... but we’re back on the road without a scratch on the Taco!
