• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

I got the heated seats from Clazzio, so there's two extra wires. I have those going to switches in the left panel, one is for backlighting and I forget the other one. I assume I still need to run these after I use the hot wire and install the relay like you, right?

What have you done to, or with, your Tacoma today?

Oh, I also installed the Ironman under body armor kit (covers the front end of the exhaust area). This kit came with a free air compressor too!

Ironman 4x4 Stage 2 Foam Cell Pro Lift Kit Installed over the course of two days with some help of a couple buddies here and there. My arms were sore for a few days, but goddamn if the taco doesn't look so much better now... Last pic in the roll is stock suspension when I was on a camping trip...

    Ironman 4x4 lift kit

I just installed the Ironman Stage 2 kit (foam cell, heavy load front shocks, heavy load rear leaf pack) on my truck over the holidays. Some thoughts and advice I have... 1. Unless you're mildly mechanically inclined, don't do the install yourself. There were some physically demanding/difficult...

Any experience with Rough Country stage 2 lift?

Thanks for the quick reply! Ideally, I'd like to go 3" front and rear. Right now, my rear looks a little lower, likely due to the camper shell, roof rack, rtt, and heavier/larger spare, and I haven't even gotten a rear bumper yet. But that's why I'm eyeing something with front and rear shocks...

what is the largest sized spare

Dang, looks nice. Wonder what I'll do with that sweet black exhaust tip the dealer put on it though...

Any experience with Rough Country stage 2 lift?

I'm currently eyeing this (https://www.roughcountry.com/toyota-suspension-lift-kit-74232c.html) for my truck, but I got a buddy that's advising me to go Bilstein. I like the price and possible ease of install, but I don't know much about lifts. I'm looking to get more height, and especially some...

what is the largest sized spare

I have 285/70R17 KO2's and I actually tried to put the spare under last night, and while it technically fits, it's up against the exhaust heat shield. So I didn't feel comfortable with that and just put it in the bed. I might try some exhaust chopping because I'll be adding a lift kit soon so I...

    Backwoods adventure mods Bumpers

Pretty sure I'm about to order one of these. They look super sweet and they're pretty competitive in price.

Where to get cab mount chop/weld in Colorado Springs?

I got some 285/70R17s on my truck last month, then added spacers yesterday. I had a little rubbing before the spacers, but after the install, I couldn't even get out of the driveway without rubbing. So I did some cutting myself after watching about a dozen Youtube videos and I got off a good...

Upgrading to 285/70R17 for my ORD, should I grab a full-sized spare?

Thanks! I ended up getting a full size spare. I currently have it in the bed since the guys at Discount Tire felt uneasy about putting it under the truck because they thought the rim might get scratched. I'm looking at getting a swing-out rear bumper with a tire mount now though. Just adding it...
