I agree, but the benefits of a tune is another thread. If you don't plan on tuning, doing it to support an AGM is rediculous, as is running an AGM without the proper charge parameters.
It also won’t last as long without being properly charged.
I wouldn’t think spending over $500 for a tune just to get an AGM battery makes much sense. If you need more, at that point just add a second aux Lifepo battery and stick with a standard lead acid start battery.
I still like a tarp tied to the truck and compression poles. You can drop a corner to block the late day sun or wind. The mounted, easy ones just work when the sun's overhead.
If you drive down rough roads, I would include damage to your bike and vehicle in the cost of a cheap one. Especially if your bike costs more than many used cars.
