• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

2024 Tacoma Revealed! Here's Everything About It.

It looks extremely bloated just like the new tundra. Front bumper is disgusting and those arches look like they'll be a problem in the long run for running larger tires with their lower height. It'll probably weigh a LOT more than the current gen too. Meh. Guess we will have to wait for the...

    Suspension creak/noise

I usually get a creak from my new leaf springs in the back when the U-bolts need to be retorqued. Usually that solves it for me, but I'm also running a different setup than stock. I've heard of the cab mount making noise as well or the bed bolts also needing retightening. All things you can...

Maintenance I did the my dumbest dumb in my 10 years of working on trucks….

Can you do my trans service next? Haha! We all make mistakes. Sometimes wrenching on the truck is a good way to de-stress and feel more positive. I know I like working on my vehicles, even if I'm in a bad mood it cheers me up. Except when it's being a pain in the ass, but then the success of...

What will my truck look like with 285/75r15 0 offset.

Ooooh, my bad! The truck looks good at that height, definitely. Bigger tires later on will look and feel much better. What kind of spacers did you install?

    You guys were right!!

He sounded reasonable from his response but came from a place that didn't quite understand the upgrades you had, I believe. The "extractor pipes" and the U exhaust that removes all the cats improves power by itself. Equivalent to something like bolting on aftermarket headers, if not more...

What will my truck look like with 285/75r15 0 offset.

Not to bring you down, but 3" spacers would be a terrible idea. With wheels at 0 offset, that puts you at -75mm effective offset (100mm more offset than the factory +25 wheel) which is in the territory of wheel that is just straight non-functional. The extra strain from that much offset would...

4.88's or 5.29's for your Tacoma?

This is really interesting. Maybe it has something to do with the built-in speed limiter? Or do you just run out of power and it wont accelerate?

Millennials Really Want A Fully Electric Toyota Tacoma, Says Survey

Yeah I still don't see a way around fuel in that sense. I mean, if you installed a bunch of solar panels maybe you could get away with it. Perhaps a hood made of solar panels.. and roof.. and tonneau cover... Hahaha.

NEW 16-23 Tacoma Sequential LED Headlights | FORM Lighting

These look awesome! Thinking they might have to be one of my next upgrades.

To tune or not to tune

So it really depends! If you're happy with it, why change it? But: When you decide to go even bigger tires or add weight to the truck, the throttle response and power may feel more hindered. I added skinny 33's to my truck and noted a difference in the way it drove and factored in that I tow a...
