• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

    Selling seats

Many folks in this forum may have replaced or removed seats from their Tacoma for various purposes. What generally happens to the seats after? Can I get people's experiences?

Pacific LoMax Tonneau cover for DCSB Tacoma.

I'm waking this thread back up. Is there anyone in the Pacific Northwest that's interested in a tonneau. Didn't get much traction last year then I went traveling for 8 months. I won't have it on hand for a bit (still in transit). But if you're interested, please let me know!

    5.29 Regear on stock

I often run my truck on 4th on the highway. Given the gear math, I think it gives an idea what it might be like (I may be way off on this) I run mostly stock (32 inch tires) with a GFC on the bed full time. Once this virus stuff clears up, I'm going to find an installer and get it done to 5.29.

    5.29 Regear on stock

I recommend watching this. It's basicly where I found my answers. Original link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxBWZGQIScI&lc=Ugx0VPIpIxt765Vpw3x4AaABAg.93fYiq6GYEw98HYOCOe-F2

    5.29 Regear on stock

The stock 3g seems to play well in the 2000-3500 rpm range, which is also why I seem to like 4th gear the most. If 6th gear with 5.29 does that, I think I'm sold.

    5.29 Regear on stock

I think I'm at that 400lbs mark. The GFC is at about 300 and then gear and stuff will tip it. I appreciate the feedback everyone!

    5.29 Regear on stock

@UploadAdventure. By "bunch of weight", how much? 200lbs, 500lbs, 1000lbs?

    5.29 Regear on stock

I run my truck (6AT) on 4th gear on the highway quite a bit. When I did the math, it's comparable to 6th gear (with 5.29) and I'm happy with the RPM / power tradeoff. I'm still not happy with the gear searching it does on modest hills. How is that working for you using 5.29 @Icefog34?

    5.29 Regear on stock

I'm considering changing out my stock differential on a 2017 4x4 TRD-OR. Is there anyone who has made the gear change but kept the truck mostly stock? Pros and cons? Did anyone add a front locker as a part of the change?

    Rattle driving me crazy

I believe I ran into the same issue on the same bolt! After additional research, other folks have had issues with that same bolt coming loose. I wonder why? Thankfully, no grinding or shimming was needed. I do offroad and have had the bed pretty loaded with a rooftop tent and gear that I needed...

Best roof racks and roof top tents?

I've had the GFC (Go Fast Camper) for about 2 months now. Two things that stand out and really like. The doubling of covered cargo space. This doesn't mean double weight, but double volume for sure. I can now do short trips with 4 people Setting up the tent is easy on level ground. Literally 30...
