Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

I bought some from Kingbright USA. Specifically, I got AA4040QBS/D4.0X4.0MM RIGHT ANGLE BLUE PLCC2 SMD LED AA4040VRBXZ1S/A-2A4.0X4.0MM RIGHT ANGLE SAPPHIRE BLUE PLCC2 SMD LED (X=0 What I can't remember is which one (or if either did) matched the factory blue. I don't have access to...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

So have you heard about leatherseats.com . . . :) The second time around the hog rings seem easier.

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

Nice work. One bit of explanation. You do not need the fuses for this install because you are using the Toyota seat heater fuse as part of the factory harness tie in. The intent is to cut out the fuse holders (with fuse) from the aftermarket harness and throw them away. The reason you don't...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

I've never seen it posted on a forum, and they don't have it on their website (I've looked to try and help people with the install). If you buy a kit, please diagram it out and post it here. I'd also note that I've seen posts saying that they have changed the harness over the years. If you...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

Not really sure. If you don't have heated seats in your O/R, then unless the O/R commonly comes with heated seats, you will likely have to do some wiring. Some of the wiring will be there like in my SR5 which has some partial wiring. Some may not be. If you are pulling from the junk yard, I'd...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

The Sky Blue wire at IE2 (if you have it) goes to the driver's side heating element in a factory install. You could technically try to splice into it and use it instead of the wire that comes with your seat heaters, but depending on how the aftermarket ones are set up, it is probably more pain...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

I would say unlikely. You'd have to figure out how much current that circuit can support and I doubt it will support seat heaters.

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

Mine was a generic one with the correct looking switches from Amazon.

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

There is no difference. For the combined wiring, I was just saying instead of doing what you are talking about I basically just extended the IE2 wire to the area behind the switches and made my connections to both seats there. Either location is fine.

    3rd Gen Tacoma software upgrade

I had similar problems and switched to an AAwireless Android Auto adapter. Until I saw your post, I had forgotten that I had ever had dropouts with AA. Rock solid with wireless.

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

Somebody needs to post the wiring diagram (or at least the entire instructions) from the Clazzio kit since that seems to be the most common for questions. Let's work backward on your questions. Note that I don't have this kit, but based on previous questions, I will make some educated guesses...

Solved Seat Heater (heated seats) installation using factory fuse and relay

Switch type doesn't matter. Everything is the same as far as the factory connection points.

    Wiring preparation

That is really weird. I double-checked the URL before I posted and it was working. The site is down for me right now too. Maybe try again in a few days. When I was wiring up my seat heaters and needed the diagrams (that site above didn't have my year if I recall correctly), I just subscribed...
