• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

T3G seems to have the most consistency when it comes to helpful, respectful and intelligent responses. TW does have a breadth of resources and threads but it can be a little tough to wade through as I’ve found there a tons of duplicate threads, and unfortunately folks responses can be more demeaning than helpful. I don’t have enough experience with other threads out there to advise on them.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, the more resources you can use to help answer a question, the better. I usually start here then go to google and type my question followed by “Tacoma” and then just run the list. If that fails, then I post a new thread.

Sweet truck, Huck — welcome to the rabbit hole :)

I left TW after a week,
Seems members are more interested in controlling the threads than helping with questions.
If you disagree with one member's opinion, get ready for a gang of friends to defend them.

Not worth the time in my opinion.
Some mods they recommend can actually cause issues to your truck.
The "cool" factor outweighs a possible future problem to a lot of them I noticed.

I really appreciate the information! Glad I chose this forum!

I really appreciate the information. You are so right on the rabbit hole....it's bad lol but addicting. Thanks for welcoming me!

I've been all over for the last 20 years. Only two places that I've found are worthwhile are here and JLForums (for jeep JL's). @Tyler does a fantastic job keeping trolls and punks under control, and we're saturated with some experienced, mature guys more interested in function and reliability than the "cool" factor.

Glad to have you around!

Wow, thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum, @Huck89. I’m Tyler and I created this website to be a beginner-friendly, free-to-use, non-gatekeeping community of 3rd gen folks. And, thanks to our members (not really me), this site is exactly that.

Tacoma World is obviously a great resource when you need a lot of information fast.

Well said.

This is the #1 place, a distant second is local Tacoma Facebook groups for meetups. There is no 3rd. I also left TW after a few days. It's a toxic emoticon hell-hole.

Welcome to the best Tacoma Forum on the interwebs. So many knowledgeable folks on here. Like @Biohazard , I've been around forums most my life. Mostly import car ones and this one takes the cake by far!

Lets here about your tacoma! After all, that's why we are all here!

Welcome friend! I throw my lot in with the rest - this is the place. Facebook groups are good for local buy/sell/meetup stuff.

I don't even remember how I found this forum... I think I looked up "Tacoma Forums" or something, went scrolling around some, didn't like any really. Then found this one and absolutely love this community! Everybody here is like a big family :)

Z,

Really glad to hear this. I was weary about joining any forum honestly. I'm semi new to the Tacoma world and I will have tons of questions along the way of my build and I didn't want the sarcastic comments, or excessive sidebar conversations, or individuals simply being assholes because I don't know what I'm talking about. So once again, thank you and all the other fellas that's given me information and recommendations so far!

We're always here to help! :) I'm still semi new myself but I've learned a lot by being here

You guys are too kind. I’ve been neglecting the forum again. I’m having a much busier summer than I expected it would be, going to all of these events for Four Wheel Campers. But we’re also having a really good time on the road right now, so sometimes I don’t want to touch my phone/computer. I’ll be back in New York in October for the winter, and that’s when I’ll be going hard on the T3G / TacomaPortal stuff again.

that seems like the exact opposite time you'd want to be back in the northeast.. haha
