• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

So for years we specialized in mainly Tundras . And it all started with me going full tilt and no expense spared on building one of the baddest Tundras in the world . But a 600+ hp Ultimate Fun Mobile started to become a bit much for daily use .
So in a effort to get my girlfriend out of her Audi and in to a Truck , some how I ended up with the Tacoma.

So figured I share with everyone the. Build . And the build up. From what was supposed to be the “do nothing to it” keep it simple truck . To as I write this one of the first Forced Induction Toyota Tacoma 3rd gen Trucks on the planet .
So follow the build as we take a look back on how we got here.
Plus we will share the Tundra as well.

So as I mentioned the truck was to be simple and more suited for a daily.
but Well we had a set of 6112s and 5160 from Bilstein that someone ordered and never showed up for install. So that got slapped on first.
Then next day was wheels and tires .
And that’s where it was supposed to end .

After wheels and tires, I knew the truck needed gears . From working with Tundras I knew it needed that. As many you all know the hunting and erratic shifting was very displeasing , to say the least . So a call to Nitro Gear Owner Carl was made. I was told soon, that it was in the works and I would be one of the first to try them. After a few call and long conversations 4.88 gears were what was on the table as being developed. I wanted 4.56 . I’m glad they didn’t listen. Haha

My good friend MCM Fab who had helped me on the Tundra was owed a favor so I had him knock me out a set of custom UCAs. Rk Sport had called me as they heard I had a Tacoma and was asking if I wanted to run their hood. The main reason for the call was due to the fact that I was helping build BJ Baldwin (Toyota / Monster Energy ) Toyota Tundra. So the timing was perfect, everyone wanted to be a part of his project and was willing to work with me on the Tacoma as well.
for those that don’t know who Bj is here you go

So on goes the RK Sport Hood

With calls coming in due to the project , old friends and shock manufacture Icon Vehicle Dynamics reaches out and asked if I would consider running their Shocks on the Tacoma. So being as they are the only fully engineered complete kits on the market I decided . Hey let’s test all the kits and we can give customers our take on how they feel and how they work. So I buy a stage 7 and figure start at top of the heap and work down to a stage 2 .
Also got a new set or wheels

So we did go with the TRD Headlights . Also did a Magnaflow exhaust , AFe intake and KC Hilites fogs . Which at the time no one knew they would work or fit .

I know this is about the Tacoma but both of those Tundras are sick as hell!! It would cool if you almost cloned your Tundra with the Tacoma.
