I just wanted to say hi. I'm an aspiring overlander who is hoping to hit the trails with my wife and 6 month old son. I don't have any mechanical experience or trail experience but I love the outdoors and love to hike and camp. I hope to learn and increase my knowledge of all the above. I appreciate any help or future advice. Also if anyone lives in Minnesota and knows of any local ORV trails please let me know. I live in a Minneapolis suburb.

Thanks,
Brandon

Hey Brandon, welcome to T3G. We will be able to answer your questions and point you in the right places here. Any photos of the truck and how long you’ve had it/what you want to do to it?

Since you love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and have your wife and kid, I’d definitely recommend looking into roof top tents.

Thanks Tyler! I am very interested in a RTT. I've only had the truck for about a month. I have a topper on order (for the dogs) that will need to be reinforced for the RTT. The only thing I have done so far is upgrade the tires to BFG All-terrains. I would like a suspension lift in the future but will probably wait until the tires need replacing. I also would like to get sliders sooner than later since I'm on stock suspension. Other than that I will wait on most mods until I experience the need for them, such as lighting or bumpers. I'm always open for ideas and advice.

Wheels and tires look great! You’re right about the sliders. Don’t do what I did a mess up your truck, just get the sliders ASAP. It’s usually up to a 12 week wait after you order them from most places.

Welcome! The Tacoma will be a great truck for you! All of us had no experience at one point, gotta start somewhere! Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you with anything!!(y)(y)
