Audio Need help with adding an amp and Sub, 2019 OR with Tech package

Good evening,

So I have looked most of the day at multiple different places looking for a sub and amp addition. I have a 19' OR double cab with the tech package, so I have the JBL system, which is lackluster at best. I am only going to be adding a sub and amp at this time and keeping the HU as is for now. Everything I looked up was pushing people to change the head unit out and doing a complete gut job of the sound system, but I don't have that amount of cash flow for it right now. I have a JL 12W3v3-4 with a box and a JL audio 500 1/d amp. What can I do to make this as easy/streamlined as possible to just add it and not replace the HU. Thanks in advance.

Anything? any ideas or assistance? Did some more research and possibly be able to use an LOC or one of those PROAMP converters or what not. I am looking for some guidance from someone that is or was in my same position and what route you guys went. Thank you

I have an '18, but I ended up changing out the AWFUL oem headunit with a Joying (Android based). Best thing I could of done. Adding an amp was seamless.

There is a guy who makes the harness on TW to add an amp with no splicing.

I have the 2022 sport the jbl is a pain, I just bought the ap4-ty13 and the t-harness replaced my dash with cdt 2" coaxial and they sound great! I've tried everything and nothing was better to me different but not better..the cdt es-02exx are awesome exactly what I've been looking.. I also put cdt 6x9 mid/subwoofers in the front doors and am waiting crossover a guy built for me just yesterday 1/6/25 and I've run new speaker wires am running i should say I ran the front line to the kickpanels when I'm hoping to put the crossover then I'll run the wire from there into the door and up the dash going to try them off the front channel of a cdt 5 channel amp 100x4@4ohm and 300x1@ 1ohm sub channel the factory wires just aren't enough for the power I don't believe so it's easier really than buying that 50$ harness if anyone needs one I may have one I'm probably not going to use..I don't think I am anyway it's all kind of confusing but I'm told one I hook it up it will make more, sense . The t harness is I believe so you can power some speakers off the jbl amp and I do plan to keep the jbl 8" running on it for now .. I'm adding a 10"comprt in a box behind driver side rear seat just put it in today. I haven't hooked up the amp power wire comes tomorrow and terminal ends Wednesdat y so hopefully soon as the crossovers get here.. I was going to run rear doors off the jbl but now I'm going to try them infinity reference 6.5 on the new amp but it might be too much power for them..I was going to run the 6x9 and 2" on separate channels so I could use the fader to control their blending since it's kind of wide between small sub and 2' wideband mid/tweeter coaxial though I'm running hem together now on jbl and it sound as good as jbl and Spotify can. I really miss having a cd playing for quality sound I'm not sure I get, with this streaming music and that's some of the "distortion" I think people blame the jbl on its somewhat the source and quality of the music being played too.i hope I'll have all this done in a week but honestly I came on here tonight looking for help understanding it..evidently I'm too far behind for the taxoma world crew for them to help me with my questions, every once in a while someone will but more I get harassment for run on sentences or stupid I should have found it in the, archives before posting my question sort of bs that has turned me off it's a shame because there is a lot of good info but if you don't own a pc like myself and only use a phone cause your 50 and just don't online much with my phone , my pocket pc is all I have so.. hope to find good stuff here and if I can help please ask .I hope to have the,pac amppro figured out but I think I'm going to have to find a pc to get the amppro app to eq it since the amppro takes the output from the jbl hu and sends a clean flat signal to the new amp where it can then be modified for aftermarket better speakers , amp what have you..I'm excited it started out I was just putting better kicker 6x9 in the door for extra brightness to the jbl but that's when I realized the wasn't going to work because the signal it already low passed and the dash was the rest but at 2 ohm i,was afraid to,drop the load to 1 ohm by adding a tweeter though I probably should have given that a try i,wouldn't be sitting here with a 5ch amp and 250$ dash speakers and subs trying to learn how to bypass the system yet keep it operating since it controls a lot of the factory system like its, part of the hu but in the back .instead of the dash .. oh well if anyone has used the pac amp pro I could use some hook up advice but I'm going to throw it all at the, wall later this week hopefully and see what come out.. I hope after all I've been through trying to figure it out is worth it I feel like it has to be as much as it all cost for me to upgrade my sound a little bit
