Lol thanks brother. Yes I did see, that was super cool that they shared it! I love the shell and it's been an excellent addition to my truck for sure. My primary use for it started out because I keep my dogs in the bed and don't trust them to not jump out. So they stick their heads out the window and enjoy themselves, but the longer I've had the shell I've discovered just how useful and beneficial it's been to have it.

I really do love the OVT. It's hands down the best thing I've done for my truck. Drivability is greatly improved, little quirks and even the more dangerous aspects of the OEM tune are corrected, as well as the application of power and added power (depending on if you run the 87 or 91 octane maps). Others may disagree, they may say that it doesn't do much for them, but nearly every time that's due to their having other mods such as heavy tires and armor. The base tune that is just about finished with development is best intended for vehicles that are stock or close to stock. Custom tuning for those who wish it opens up soon and that will help everyone else who still feels like they need more from their tune. Final touches on the base tunes are close to being ironed out, which took awhile because of the incredibly wide degree of variance discovered in how the Tacomas behave. In my opinion, the tune is perfect as it is but it's also been established that my truck is one of the discovered unicorns that doesn't care what map gets flashed lol

In summary, I have nothing but positive things to say about Mat/OV and his maps he's released, and I certainly recommend it to other Tacoma owners

I’m gonna get the tune when funding allows. Everyone always talks about it like this.

Some people aren't satisfied with it at the moment, but that's still due to the difficulty in satisfying every single person when we all have different opinions about how the truck should behave and whatnot, which is why the soon-to-come custom tuning will be a huge benefit to everyone. And on top of that, that custom tuning service along with all maps, past or future ones, you get for free when you purchase, which is pretty cool.

Yet another +1 for at3w noted. Heavily leaning towards them when the time comes

Dude it's awesome lol I love it man, really do.

The boost comes on smoothly and predictably, and strong. It's a blast to drive.

I saw the TT Badge on another post, and had to track down your build post. When does it kick on at? I can't say I ever thought to put a Turbo on these trucks. I know they tend to lose power at the higher RPM bands, does it tend to fix that?

Spools up quick and low. I spool at nearly any throttle input, actual usable boost pressure beginning at roughly 30% throttle. Depending on gear I'll use boost below 2k rpm but I spend most of my time in the 2000-2500 rpm range and have boost available just about instantly.

These base turbos taper off at about 5k rpm but it's not like I really ever go out of my way to see that high of an rpm, especially not for daily driving purposes. The powermax turbo upgrade for the kit doesn't taper off that early, it'll let you go further up in the powerband.

Power is strong and consistent through the powerband when in boost, personally I love it and my favorite bit is how "OEM" it feels, it's not obnoxious or really in your face, it's subtle in a lot of ways. Toyota Ecoboost lol

Last night I wired up my project for DC power to the bed.

10ga wire with inline fuse from my AGM Odyssey and ran to the rear. Kept it above the frame, kept away from exhaust and drivetrain to prevent friction/heat damage.

Panel is from Blue Sea and has a circuit switch, two 12v sockets and a voltmeter.

The panel in this specific configuration is no longer made so I had to order one that had two duel USBs and then swap those out for the voltmeter and extra socket.

In a couple weeks I'll be doing this in the wife's 4runner too. Our plan is to mirror all roof rack accessories/set ups and power availability, and between that and the trailer we ordered be able to just transplant gear quickly between the trucks with nearly identical parts/set-up/arrangement, hook up and go. Little to no fuss about which vehicle to take on a trip.
