My 17 TACO DCSB TRD OR w/ ADS and Icon suspension parts

What's up Tacoma3g,

I ditched a 2015 Chevy Colorado Z71 for a used unmolested blazing blue pearl 2017 Tacoma DCSB TRD OR with all the bells and whistles, Black Friday of 18. The Tacoma was bought with less than 11k miles. Plan is to build a weekend warrior adventure rig.

Purchased from Headstrong:
2.5 inch ADS extended travel front coilovers w/ RR's and adjusters.
2.5 inch ADS extended travel rear shocks w/ RR's and adjusters. Icon tubular delta UCA. Also purchased Icon RXT adjustable leaf springs, super bumps, and misc items from wheelersoffroad. Purchased bronze 17 inch Method 701's wrapped in 285x70R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers from Custom Offsets.

Install went in a week ago and put around 800 miles on the new setup. Stellerbuilt in Sacramento installed all suspension parts. They also did the CMC and BMC to fit the wheel and tires. Check out the picks below. More mods and pics to come.

Going on 4 months of ownership and found some serious paint issues. It appears as the clear coat has faded in several areas such as the left/right sides of the hood close to the pillars, all bottom door sills, and A/B pillars up to the roof.

Good thing the rig is still covered under the manufacture warranty. Dropped the truck off today at Tracy Toyota and it's unknown when my baby is going to be back. Service manager advised it will be covered under warranty. Apparently, a corporate employee will be coming to check the truck and investigate the issue, as well as give the OK to cover the paint under warranty.

I only know a few people who have had similar issues and it seems all of them were 17's with blazing blue pearl. I'll update when I have further information.

I hope it gets fixed for you my friend ?

Update: Just got an call from the dealership and Toyota is honoring the warranty!!! The entire truck is getting re-painted. They advised truck has been at the body shop as of 4/1.

It better not be an April fool's day joke ?. So stoked it's getting repaired, can't wait!

Welcome to the forum. That is pretty gnarly stuff. It's cool that the truck is getting repainted, but damn. I'd be asking for some one of a kind color out of the situation, lol.

Update:

The entire truck received a $14k fresh new paint job all covered under the Toyota warranty! So if any of you have had this issue, head straight to your local dealer.

I originally picked up my truck on 4/26 but as I left the lot, I heard a horrible noise coming from the undercarriage. Upon further inspection, it appeared my rear output shaft seal had been damaged while in the care of Tracy Toyota or the body shop. As the driveshaft was engaged the seal would spin with it, so I brought it back. The service department diagnosed the problem and advised it would cost $1200 to fix. Originally, they were trying to blaim the problem on my lift but to my knowledge, a lift kit can't strike the seal and cause a leak.

Nonetheless, shot out to the entire Tracy Toyota service department for taking care of the issue at no cost to me. I was definitely an inconvenience to be without my baby but they made a wrong, right! As of now, the truck just approached 17k miles but looks like it just rolled off the lot!

Rebuilt the Icon RXT leafs using stage 1 setup and installed extended brake lines. Loving the leveled look. Also installed a Tacomabeast Raptor grill many moons ago.
