Hey guys I hope you all can help me..
I am currently negotiating with two different Toyota dealers one in South Florida and one and East Tennessee.. I am looking to purchase a TRD Pro and my question is... neither of the dealerships show any kind of discount off of MSRP..
They say because of high demand is this a common...
Thanks

Yeah you won’t get much wiggle room on a Tacoma. They are highly sought after by dealers right now. The resale value of them went up quite a bit mid year (if I remember right) last year

End of year deals- previous year models may be the best bet to save a buck or two.

That sounds right. I got a couple grand off MSRP if I remember correctly but they seemed to really have a line in the sand they were not willing to cross because they knew someone else would buy it.

The average would be anywhere from 8 to 10 over MSRP for a pro. Its basically a TRD off-road with fox shocks. You might consider going that route instead.

there is like a 6 month wait . if you want one. Your going to be paying pretty much full price. but remember they hold that value for years.

I did hustled around the same as you did but between TX KS and OK. I hit up about 12-15 dealerships and got about $6k off msrp with my 2021 limited. Good luck

Just got my TRD Pro in manual in early January. Took 1.5 months to find one. I talked to over 18 dealerships nationwide. The lowest price was MSRP+$3k. The highest was MSRP+$10k. MSRP+$5k was the most common. [correction: ToyotaDirect in OH had no A.D.M. (additional dealer markup).]

I live in NorCal and Gresham Toyota in Oregon was nice enough to do nationwide search for me. There were exactly ZERO Pros (in Manual that wasn't Lunar Rock) in CA, OR, WA, ID, UT at the time. Talked to ToyotaDirect in Columbus, OH, Toyota Cool Springs in TN, and Rocky Mount Toyota in NC. These trucks sold before I could get paperwork FedEX'd to me. If you hesitate, there's someone right behind you on the waitlist. So, very little buyer's leverage to negotiate with.

Finally found one in Denver. Flew there at 5:30am PT started the drive back to Cali by 12:30pm MT. Worth it. Road trip was bonding trip with my Tacoma.

Punchline: Dealers have the leverage here....unfortunately.

Rickcast the TRD Pro I was telling you about in TN is back. Dealer just called me. The guy who bought decided he didn't want to drive a stick anymore and returned it. It's got 327 miles now and it has a used registration...but that means you can get it for a great steal. It's $8700 off.

I wanted a Army Green Pro, but stuff like that $8700 market value up charge, just turned me off. I don’t think it’s worth it and went to a TRD OR in Quicksand that the dealer Mark about $4000 off, paid $38,800 for a $43k sticker.
I will not have a Pro, but let’s look at this. Pro=$45,6k / TRD OR=$38,8k / in my pocket = $6,8k that covers a lot of upgrades, one being good off road tires which the Pro needs also.

If you plan on modding it out at all (you probably will lol) then go with an Off Road

You'll find better deals (at or under MSRP) and will have an easier time finding one most likely

The past year has been rough on the market though with short supply, so you likely won't find as good a deal as you could in years past. I think I paid about $6k under MSRP for mine in 2019 but I haven't heard that happening much the past year

Thanks man .....currently looking for a TRD off-road

I did same as you. I wanted a Pro but wasn’t willing to pay the extra. Last spring, Pros were going for MSRP +$5,000. I got my Off-road for MSRP -$4,700. The Pro wasn’t worth the difference in price tag for Fox shocks, Rigid fog lights, a TRD skid plate, fake hood scoop, and badging. All the other features are available in the TRD Off-road.

Are you a Costco member...trying using there auto program?
I did ..and save some money...(not sure if mines or theirs) ...kidding
Aloha
