I'm pretty sure this would be the right place to ask? It's either here or "Off Topic". I spent too much time debating it.

So here is the old one:
newintro.mp4

And here is the new one:
newnewtintro.mp4

And when I say brutal I mean T3G type brutal, not TW brutal. No one wants TW brutal, bunch of savages over there. I would appreciate some honest feedback though.

2/17/22 EDIT: NOT THIS ONE! There is a new one, comment #12 ...maybe I should have made a new topic for this?

EDIT2: Make that #20, I made a new version.

Man I really like that. Only 2 cents I got and I have tried this on my latest video and figured out how hard it is to do. Try to line up the cuts on the video to the music. Definitely dig it though.

Okay, maybe a little more brutal than that ;)

Honestly, I don't try to match up with the music. Sometimes I just get lucky. I'd be happy to make one for you if you send me some clips and whatever music/icon you want.

This probably makes more sense than off-topic.

Good analogy. Watching the video now. Will report back shortly.

1. The footage in the video is good.
2. The blue logo over the colors in the videos isn't working well. It's hard to see the logo, especially the outline of the state. You could try adding a stroke around the blue or a very small white glow. Nothing obvious, just something so the blue isn't touching the darker colors in the videos.
3. The warning reminds me of MTV's Jackass or porn. The message in the warning is fine and adds character. But could the screen be a little "friendlier" or maybe just remove the "WARNING" text? I think it is the warning text that gives an immediate NSFW content vibe.

Like:

-footage: wider angles, sense of "adventure" is more apparent
-overlying logo in concept

don't like:
-last clip, your grunting and falling leaves a "ugh" in my memory. I'd stick with another truck shot, or something touchy-feely like a waterfall or truck set up for camp or something.
-blue is right in the bandwidth that makes your eyeballs strain, I'd darken or lighten it a bit, Tyler's idea about putting white shadows behind the logo I think is great.

Btw, for you science nerds, red and blue are at opposite ends of the visible light spectrum, and as such actually focus at different lengths within your eye. If you've ever tried to read red letters on a blue PowerPoint background, you've probably had this experience. The when the red is in focus, the blue focal point is just a hair off your fovea.

So what you pointed out was just what I was most concerned with. The logo is not ideal and I have a friend who has far better graphic design skills than me who is going to tweak it this weekend. I'm still trying to get the right wording on the warning. It's meant to disarm the people who want to tell me I'm not doing stuff right. Also, I want to give people the understanding that I expect to fail and hopefully they find that helpful. I'll work on it.

I was hoping the crash would be considered funny like the last shot in my first intro. I can see your point though. I'll see what else I have. Maybe stick a working on the truck image in the middle and move the second to last shot to the end.

Re: Color, I was trying to match the color of the truck and also the general Ta-Cobra theme. I see your point though.

Thanks everyone!

Agree with Tyler. Don't like the big ass logo over the top. Don't like the warning.

The part about the color is an easy fix. You can keep the color exactly the same by just adding a discreet stroke behind it. I can do it for you if you need help.

Okay, It's been about a year. I made another one. Same rules apply as last time, this is the first draft:

Also, for some reason dropbox limits the video quality to 720p so either download it or ignore the quality

Not bad except for whatever or whoever yelled whatever they said. That sounded kind of dumb to me. I hope that’s not too brutal. There’s a lot going on in a short period of time so you really don’t have time to digest each scene.

Yeah, I'm getting mixed responses on that part, I think I'll swap it for something else.

And, just FYI, we were out in the woods and I got a train to honk for us, the yelling is my excited response :) I can see how the clip is too short to make that out though.

1) Edit to the music. Cut on the beat.
2) If you're posting this to YouTube that disclaimer is redundant.
3) Logo is too much. Bring it in at the end fade in with a solid or blurred out bg and then fade into the video from there.
4) Clips are too long. Cut to a new clip on the hand claps.
5) Ending with a crash is always good and that's a good place to fade to black and bring up the logo.

I also recommend NOT starting your video with this. give an intro of telling what it's about, or action, then cut to the intro clip.

Id drop the logo from every single scene and fade it in at the very end. Let the people see the cool shit then show them who you are not jam that in the middle of the entire video where it takes all the attention away from the content.

TBH, I don't really care for a canned intro at all. I usually do a new one with clips from that video each time using the same music.

Agreed, give em preview of whats to come. Cant tell you how many videos ill stop and move on from because the intro doesn't show me something I find interesting enough to watch the entire video for.

Ah, you are looking at the year old version. Look for the one three comments up.

EDIT: Or like 5 now
