• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

We've been? Xploring the rimrocker trail from Montrose Colorado to Moab.
Beautiful trail with high and low elevation.
Desert and mtn environment.
Not much traffic up here. Solitude is nice.

Awesome! Rimrocker is on my bucket list to do! How many days are you in so far?

We did a relaxing 5 days.
My favorite section was the part just before buckeye lake at the state line.
It got really slow going in the section before moab.

These were the updates I've been waiting for! Looks like you found some good weather, some clean air and a decent itinerary to follow (or not!)

Looks beautiful! Enjoy it

Awesome! That's what I was hoping for! I was thinking about doing it in a good 3-4 days and maybe hit up some other trails while I'm out there. Driving from the DFW area, I want to catch as much as I can in a trip.

I’ve got my eyes on his rock sliders. Between those and lil b’s. Either way I’m looking at $1500 in shipping and pc.

@3cent.Taco

Holler at me before you head up.
We are doing the trail again in reverse on the way home.
Definitely some parts that are awesome.

Karen's taco got a winch and bumper today.
Custom bumper and warn VR evo 8000.
I used a plastic bumper I got off of eBay for the section under the headlights, the fit required a cut a little different on each side. Not the standard straight line.
Need to order a thinner winch fairlead to wrap it up.

Eibachs going in Karen's taco.

Pretty smooth so far. Taking a little break to enjoy some hot cider on a cool rainy day.

Got the front done!
Took about 4hours, minimal cussing even in the rain.
It was good having a second set of hands. Tricky part was the long UCA bolts.

I replaced the front body mount bushing with energy suspension but still have the weird clunk on the passenger side.
The front left body mount was already getting wore out by the bolt, and didn't align well with the hole in the frame. Took some work to get the bolt back in.

I still have my clunk as well. I was hoping it would go away with the new mounts but I wasn't optimistic. Aside from maybe my shock failing I cannot figure out what it could be.

It is only on the passenger side, and not when the suspension compresses but when it rebounds.
It's quiet when I go up a bump, but get the clunk when I drop off.

That is pretty much exactly what I have going on. I will let you know if I figure it out. I have a new suspension coming so I am waiting to swap things out. I have already double checked torque specs and cannot find anything that is loose.
