• Welcome to Tacoma3G.com, a free resource for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma owners!

This website is the passion-project of a USMC veteran/mechanic, @Tyler. I created Tacoma3G.com to share my knowledge of this subject with others and to provide like-minded folks with a comfortable space to ask questions and create 'build threads' within our Tacoma Forums. Now, if the format of this website is confusing to navigate for you, or if you're interested in my full mission and T3G's history, check out the Help and About pages.

Please read this entire post as the submission and voting system has changed (again for June).

June introduces another revision to how submissions and voting will work, in an attempt to make RotM as fair as it can be for all members.
RotM has become one of my favorite things about our forum and I now realize it will probably be ever-changing according to your feedback, which is a good thing.

Based off ideas in this feedback thread, we are going to try a tournament style voting system, if you will. You guys had some intricate ideas, but to start, I'm going to use a simplified version.

  1. Starting today, submissions are open.
  2. On June 13, submissions will close and I will move them to a new voting thread; voting starts.
  3. On June 17, the initial voting thread will close and I will create a new voting thread that has the top 4 trucks from the initial thread.
  4. On June 20, voting closes, and the winner is announced.
  5. The tiebreaker system remains the same, which is explained further down in this post, as usual.

The goal is to give potential winners a better chance of actually winning by feeding a higher amount of votes toward their trucks. With only one voting thread, the votes get spread too thin across all of the submissions. The top truck might end up with 15 votes, while the second and and third truck both have 13, and then fourth truck has 12, while the rest of the trucks in the thread are sitting at 2-8 votes. Based off those numbers, the second, third, and fourth trucks probably could have won if they simply had more members' attention on them. Thus, the second voting thread, with only those 4 trucks in it. Now, if the first voting thread had 120 total votes spread across the 20 trucks that were submitted, the second thread can potentially have 120 votes spread across only 4 trucks, allowing them a better chance of now obtaining first place.

Truck A has 13 votes and truck B, C, and D have 11 votes in the first thread. They are moved to the final thread and now truck C has 55 votes, truck A has 40 votes, and truck B and D have 35 votes. Truck C clearly won. That's the idea.

All numbers I just mentioned are only examples and we will obviously see how this works out.

Tell your friends. ;)

Without further ado, let's get right into it!

-----------------------------------------

How does it work?
  • From the 10th to the 13th of this month, you can post one of your best photos of your truck to this thread, which will become your submission.
  • You can "like" the photos in this thread if you want to, but they will not count as votes; this is only the submission thread.
  • On the 13th of this month, I will move all submissions to the initial voting thread, and voting will commence.
  • On the 17th of this month, I will create a new voting thread which will have only the top 4 trucks from the initial thread, and final voting will commence.
  • On the 20th of this month, the voting thread will close and go into a review phase.
  • During the review phase, I will go through each submission, noting how many votes they received, and I will verify that the user with the most amount of votes is eligible to win according to the rules in this thread.
  • In the event the user who submitted the photo with the most votes is not eligible, I will move to the runner up, and so on.
  • In the event that there are multiple submissions with the same amount of votes at the end of the voting period, I will create a new thread with only those submissions in it, and voting will begin again for three days. If a tie-breaker is needed a second time, a random winner will be chosen via a random number generator.
What does the winner receive?
  • A choice of product from @ARCHIVE Garage https://archivegarage.com/:
    • $250 coupon code toward Archive gear of your choice
    • Archive Stealth HD U-bolt flip kit, Option 3 w/ Archive Speed bumps ($250 worth)
    • Archive Stealth HD U-bolt flip kit, Option 4 w/ Archive Super bumps ($280 worth)
  • One T3G patch
  • One T3G sticker
  • A photo of your truck in the sidebar of the forum for the duration of the following month (same location you see the forum statistics block)
  • A badge under your username in your posts stating that you are a RotM winner (same location you see "Badministrator" in my posts)
  • A nice shout-out on the T3G Instagram
Submission Rules
  1. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10 POSTS ON YOUR ACCOUNT TO SUBMIT A PHOTO! (If you're unable to reply to this thread, it's because you don't have the ten posts yet.) However, if you are a "T3G Supporter" (purchased a patch or sticker previously), you may bypass the minimum post count restriction.
  2. The forum administrators (myself and @Mr. Nobody) and our official vendors are not eligible to enter this contest. However, our forum moderators are eligible. Forum moderators are volunteers and are no different than regular members aside from the fact that they have the ability to close and move threads.
  3. If you have won this contest previously, you are not eligible to enter again until the sixth month after the last time you won. (e.g. If you won in January, you may not enter again until July.)
  4. Please submit photos that are of high quality and not edited in Photoshop to add a fake background, text, or other graphics to the image. However, you may edit your photo to adjust lighting, color, shadows, etc.
  5. You may only submit one photo per month and you will not be able to change the photo you submitted it after it is posted. You may post a different photo in a different month.
  6. Adding a link to your build thread, if you have one, is highly encouraged, but not required.

Once you have read everything above, PLEASE "LIKE" THIS POST SO I KNOW YOU READ IT, and you may submit your photo. Good luck and have fun!
