Hi Everyone. Thanks for the add Tyler.

Have a 2019 TRD Off-Road on the way. Toyota wasn't making them with the configuration I wanted for our area of the country (SE Wisconsin) so it's being built. Upgrading from my 2005 Tundra which I didn't do much to besides sound system, wheels and tires but have some more plans for the Taco. Looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard, looking forward to the Build.

Welcome! Curious to what you needed on your taco in Wisconsin. Here in California they just add everything and hike the price. Ended getting mine in AZ

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I did attempt to get them to split up the premium package as I had the idea that adding on Tacotunes aftermarket audio was the way I wanted to go and they can't split up the package. Now I'm seeing there are other options out there so I could have gone with the premium package with JBL and done something else (mainly wanted premium to get the sunroof and I doubt I'd go aftermarket on that). Not really the biggest deal but they did tell me that Toyota doesn't consider SE Wisconsin the place to send Off Road DC with 5' beds either and the closest was 500 miles away, etc. etc.. Don't really trust much of anything the dealerships have to say but I don't mind waiting for a little while since I have so much mod research to do.

Thanks again for the welcome everyone.

Planning my first mods. I'm pretty sure that if I go with the Customer ECU/TCU Turning Package from OrangeVirus Tuning I wouldn't gain much from the Sprint Booster Power Converter, is that correct?

Before I get the tune, planning on Momentum GT Air intake along with the scoop and throttle body spacer and Hi-Tuck MACH Force-Xp 2.5"
Cat-Back Exhaust System. Thoughts on what I'm leaning towards so far?

Finally, I believe the tune if not the other stuff would negate the warranty. Can anyone (factory) tell how many times the ECU was flashed and if it was flashed back to stock?

Ov turn from what I heard is worth it by far and no i doubt they call tell how many times and ECU has been flashed

So, would a Sprint Booster add any value after the OV Tune is done?

So, would a Sprint Booster add any value after the OV Tune is done?
Wouldnt be required the OV would optimize everything adding a sprint boost after may decrease it or do nothing

and I found the OV Tune thread as the Universe and / or God has granted us the Search function on this forum.

Thank you for your continued patience ...

IMO the Sprint booster isn't really necessary if you go OVTune. In face all it does is essentially accelerate the signal rate from the pedal to the throttle.

OVTune on the other hand completely remaps the ECU and TCU. I first installed 1.04R 91 (meh), then 1.05 91(bit better), 1.05 91 idle fixed, and now 1.05 91 performance with gear lock(?).

At first I was a bit let down. 1.04R was better than the TSB tune but not much. 1.05 was an improvement in that but still not great. I had the idle issue some mention but after an update it went away. Then I uploaded the performance 91 with gear lock and BAM! Finally it's all worth it. This is how the truck should have come.

The truck still isn't perfect, but that's due to the engine design and gearing. Things outside reasonable levels of manipulation by a tune. Aside from that OVTune has optimized the drivetrain and made the truck what it should have been from the factory.

Thanks, experienced a similar upgrade when I flashed my 2012 R1 with a custom map (created by someone a lot smarter than me). It was like 2 different bikes and the flash got it to where it "should" have been out of the crate.

So this happened this week .... picked it up on Wednesday, made it home before the snow started flying. Weather's been ugly and I've been busy so I don't have better pictures yet. This one was after I got to work before the sun finished coming up so it's not great.
