Intake manifold RC valve

Hey all, a few weeks ago I made a post about my truck puffing white smoke and idling rough. It’s been diagnosed and it’s not head gaskets or a fuel injector. Turns out it is this part of the intake. It functions with the computer allowing more or less air and when it fails the truck runs rich or lean, depending on what position the door gets stuck in. Anybody know where I could source one that won’t take 3 weeks to get here from china?

Is this something your dealership parts department might stock? That is the first place I would try. I am glad you got the cause figured out. Thanks for sharing the cause.

Hey man! Unfortunately I would have to order it online and then pick it up from them so I will just have to be patient. It also costs $142 dollars from Toyota parts and 50$ on eBay from china but it’s the exact same part, same make, model number and everything both brand new.

The part is supposed to be a “life of the vehicle” part, but I’ve found a couple threads that point to the plastic intake plenum becoming an issue for more and more people.

Luckily my problem only has to do with this small part that actuates the door, other people have been having the door fail/break and it puts their truck into limp mode and everything. Costs $600 to replace the whole thing if you do it yourself. So crossing my fingers I can avoid that! If it does fail at least my warranty will be in effect by then
