New to forum. After seeing all the camping pics out there I realized I always tag along on camping trips and I don’t really know where to camp in Southern California. Trying to get my girlfriend out in the wild. Any help with camping spots with restrooms and preferably running water would be awesome. Trying to start with baby steps. Grew up in Carlsbad and now live in Hollywood. I’ll post some pics eventually.

Build plans:

FJ t-case with split sticks.
Marlin Crawler TacoBox
Chevy 63” leaf swap
488 or 529 front and rear ARB’s

Hey man, while i dont really know of any camping spots with amenities, i know of lots that offer the best views, but have no amenities. when i go out i really dont like being around people so i tend to camp as far away as i can.

Usually I’ll go out with buddies shooting on BLM or bird hunting Mojave. I haven’t gone camping at a camp site in years lol. Any help to get me started is appreciated.

Any progress with the Tacobox? I ordered mine about a week ago. Just looking for anyone (besides Marlin) that has installed it. I’m dying to get mine to get it in, hopefully before fall

Welcome to the forum. For SoCal, and wanting water/bathrooms/etc., Big Bear has a lot of options. Big Bear also has endless areas where you could be camping off the grid as well. It's also good for finding very easy to very hard trails. Basically, it has it all.

I called and the MT is at least 6 months out. They had to redesign it. AT are being produced. I forget how long the lead time is but it’s nothing out of the ordainary for TACO parts.

Thanks. I’ll have to start looking at Bear.
