Well everyone asked for more power! And we are happy to say that we agreed and we listened. But most of all we acted.
With a long history of building horsepower on many different platforms we knew we could bring that knowledge and shake up the Tacoma world a bit. We have a long working relationship with Harrop Performance so we used that. A few years ago they shipped some items down for sema and needed a place to store them. So as we are always game to help we said sure no problem. What arrived was a Supercharger for a 2gr Lotus. Once we discussed the market potential. Harrop asked us to see if we could make the unit fit. Unfortunately it didn’t and would take some work to make work. But we did say we could do it. Once they seen what we had done on the Tundra Platform, they just needed a bit more of a push on the market for Tacoma.
We were commissioned to scan the engine bay which resulted in a full tear down of majority of engine bay parts.
Few months after we received a rendering of what needed to be built.
We were shipped out a few parts and started designing.
It was a process that was very intense . Lots of communication back and forth from us in USA to Australia. Parts we designed were mainly produced out of our sister facility and manufacturing shop. We also build parts for some of the worlds fastest Audi RS3 and Audi TT .
Putting the pieces together with there thoughts and experience mixed with our knowledge again was difficult just due to communication and time zone differences.
Then another hurdle was Tuning!
We knew we could make the supercharger but that was only part of the equation. We spoke to a few places and dropped hints of what was being worked on.
With all the design done and mock up parts built we still needed to produce them. A goal became a SEMA 2019 release.
With 6 weeks from sema after lots of work a opportunity opened up in a few ways . We know had a spot for Sema to display the Tacoma. And we had the ability to tune or at least become the test bed for tuning. All thanks to HP Tuners.
Well just in time for SEMA we accomplished the goal. We had produced the Supercharger and had a working unit. We drove the truck 18 miles to SEMA. Currently we are still dialing in and working on the Tune but with breakthroughs from HP we should have this thing dialed and producing more power than most expect out of the Tacoma.
so here it is .
at this time we expect pricing to be around $6500. With a pending release date . Please note We will have more information soon so bear with us and be patient .
To many of our customers that we may have not had the best customer service for , we apologize . It’s was a huge task to try and run the business and develop product . But we are hoping it was worth it.
Please reach out to us once we announce the availability as we have a incentive for our loyal customers. Thanks !
