For those of you involved in a car accident where your truck was totaled, does your insurance company allow you to remove your aftermarket parts or are you allowed to remove whatever parts are salvageable?

usually they will.... as long as you have an equivalent part to replace it. ex. you want your wheels back, they'll let you take the if you exchange for the stock wheels.
anything that didn't come w/ the vehicle you should be able to take, unless it was calculated to add value in the total loss settlement offer. even then you can take it and it would just be deducted from the settlement amount

So let’s say I no longer had my stock wheels, could I just ask them to not add the wheel value so I could just take my aftermarket ones off?

its really gunna depend on the adjuster you're working with. when it comes to wheels they usually won't let that happen cause they need the vehicle to roll

As to the wheels that's iffy if its driveable they need it move as per everthing else, up here in BC Canada you can take off your aftermarket parts but it will be deducted from your pay out
