Hey guys Joe Pinel here, show me your camping kitchens! I am a former cabinet builder and now a current hobbyist, who would appreciate the creative flow. Here is a 4Runner build I started last weekend for a friend. I will be posting up my Tacoma buildout soon!

That looks really nice! I just recently finished my drawer/sleeping platform with a kitchen drawer. It was really fun to design and build. I’m already planning out version 2.0.

Right after I finished it.

Here’s how the drawers are set up. The right one has a flat spot for the griddle and the back area is the utensil and dry food storage. Essentially it’s the “pantry”. The left one is gear storage with removable dividers.

I painted the bottoms of the drawers with flex seal so it would be nonslip. I painted the griddle area with black high heat paint (not shown)

Test fitting the griddle.

Gear drawer fully loaded for a hunting trip. The inaugural trip happened before the carpet went on the top pieces.

I’m super stoked on your removable dividers! The drawers look awesome. Are you having any trouble with your shell leaking?

Thank you! Initially I had some issues with the windoors leaking when driving in rain. But I adjusted the latches so that they closed tighter and I haven’t had a problem since. I also bought a tailgate seal kit from amazon that works great at keeping dust out.

Thank you! I have some things I’d do differently on the next set. I may sell this one after the camping season and build it again. It would be fun to build them for others.

you have a link to that seal kit?

I linked for someone a couple months ago on TW and it’s no longer sold. It was on amazon. There are other products like it. I’ll find one that’s close to what I have.

Edit:
I bought a kit that had these two seals already cut to size in a small bucket.

Here’s the portion the covers the gap in the tailgate. This looks exactly like what I used.

Here’s the one that I used on the sides.
