Whats up everyone! New to the T3G Forum and looking fwd to becoming more involved. I have spoken with Malcolm a few times and really support what he is doing here! Should've showed my support and registered sooner but life happens...

Background: I have been driving Toyotas since before there were such thing as a Tacoma. My first vehicle was a 92 Toyota Pickup. You just can't stop these things! Even after multiple accidents (deer / other vehicles), I still got 200K+ miles before retiring it. The damn thing still ran but unfortunately got to a point that it was cheaper to get rid of it than put more $ into it. I have driven both T4Rs and Tacomas and definitely partial to the versatility of the Tacoma!

Fast Fwd... Now I currently own a 2018 TRD Pro in Midnight Black ( ncTACOpro ncTACOpro ). Pics to follow...

Thanks man! Mustache game strong! Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 265 70r17

Wow those do not look like a 265 70. I’ve got the same size on a 17” and mine look small in a photo compared to those!

They are a beefy 265. 70% tread wall with a full 31.9" diameter. If your looking for the quiet and perfectly smooth ride... not for you but I love em! Beside a little road noise, due to being a MT, I highly recommend! They perform well in all conditions!

My brother had an FJ in Hawaii with the same tires too! Good tread wear and life. He just sold his FJ, moved to Maine, bought a Taco and reordered the same setup I'm running!

Welcome to T3G! The black and the wheels are super sexy dude. What are your goals for the truck (besides driving it for 500k+ miles of course)?

Agreed. There is so much to learn about wheel and tire setups and how they perform and look. Those MT look killer though!

Thanks brother! I am actually pretty bad now when it comes to keeping vehicles.... commitment issues. I have been waiting for a color (hoping for some sort of silver sky metallic for the Pro) to add a bunch mods. I had a 17 Cement Pro and now the black but pin-striping and swirl marks are a B****. Looking to upgrade suspension (leveling or lift) with uppers, possibly some new wheels and bigger tires, add additional lighting, roof rack...you know the norm. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Nah, not a TRD Pro, running a Limited over here but I didn't think you could get a decent sized looking lift out of a stock TRD Pro Suspension.
I've heard mixed reviews on other forums as to whether or not you have more lift/clearance on a Pro over other trim levels. Specs state that there is no difference in ground clearance (to differential) between Offroad and Pro but roughly 1/2" in overall height. Also, approach and departure angles are improved on the Pro. I did speak with someone the other day that is running the same wheel/tire setup on an Offroad and his scrubs a little on his mud flaps (which mine does not). Not real sure on the specs between the Limited and the Pro but I bet there is probably between 1/2" - 1" increase with the Fox suspension. Conclusion: A lot of info and no definitive answer!

Haha, no there was definitely an answer... the answer is - save money, buy aftermarket. Thank you!

So if the color you want came out you would trade this one in? What made you trade the cement in?

Damn that truck is bad ass! Is there a lift on it?
I have a 2018 Sport planning on a 2” lift. Love those tires might have to reconsider

Yessir i sure would. I traded the cement bc I found a great deal. Came real close to getting a clean trade going from a 2017 (22K miles) to the 2018 (7K miles). The smart sense technology was why I started looking into the 18's in the first place. I have traded vehicles about every 6 months for a long time to increase equity. The Taco's are the only vehicles I have kept over a year each time. I love them so much I can't trade them so soon.

I just wait to find one that is a good deal, "make em an offer they can't refuse", and then strip the vehicle before trading. I usually have to travel a little ways for the new one but currently I only owe a little over $32K on a $40K+ vehicle due to trading. Previously I would take any deal I could get on any vehicle but as of a few years ago its been only Toyota T4R's or Tacos. I will probably stick with Tacos from now on! Not gonna lie, I kinda miss the cement tho.

Thanks man! I really appreciate it! No lift. All Stock Fox suspension. Love the Coopers. Some road noise but I actually like it. Sounds mean coming down the road!
