2021 TRD OR driver power seat.

TacoTRD21

1️⃣ Getting Started...
Just bought a set of front seat covers and while positioning seat prior to installation of cover, when operating the seat controls the following happened.
  • 1st control button moved seat forwards/backwards and up/down.
  • 2nd control button tilted seat back and forth.
  • 3rd control button ( for the lumbar adjustment ) operated only when front of button pressed but not when back of button is pressed. I pressed frontwards till motor sound stopped, presumably reached travel limit. Now no motor sounds when button pressed in either direction. I waited till the next day to try this control again. Was hoping motor had a thermal safety feature to cut out from prolonged activation and would operate again after a cooling off period. No Joy
Question: Are the motor(s) that powers the seat protected by fuse(s) or relay(s) ?
Did check fuse panel under dash and engine bay. Did not see fuse/relays marked for "Prw seat". (possible I may have missed seeing it (them) or seat motors are piggy back with some other accessory circuit(s) and not identified as such ).
Any suggestion/help are welcome. TIA

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, the driver's power seat fuse is located in the interior fuse box, which is behind the glove box on the passenger side.

You will need to remove the glove box to access it

Thanks for the infor. Was not aware there is another fuse box on passenger side behind glove compartment. Checked the one on driver side and of course no joy.
There isn’t a fuse box on the passenger side.

What “manual” are you quoting? Page number?

To the OP:
The power seat fuses are located on the Main Body ECU located behind the fuse box in the cab (driver’s side).

@Wullie Your are correct. There is no fuse box behind passenger glove compartment. Only 2 fuse boxes, one in engine bay and one in cabin driver side. While surfing Taco forums ran into a pic showing Main Body ECU w/fuses but never described its location. With your infor it looks like one has to lay on one's back w/head close to brake pedal to look behind fuse box. I'll try this manuever but will try with a mirror first, it may be an easier way to locate and pull fuses out for examination. Much thanks.

I saw all three 30A fuses while lying flat on my back with a small mirror and a trouble light. Where they are mounted, it'll take small fingers, double/triple jointed if possible to remove. Poor design and person responsible should be hung upside down by the b....s. IMHO. I'm going to dismount 'lumbar' switch and check it first since it did operate although in only one direction.
