This is actually my second 3rd Gen Tacoma, I dipped my toes in with a 2016 SR5 4x2 ACLB. Still miss that truck sometimes...

I purchased my 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro in October 2017. This is how she looked the day I brought her home

First mod: Diamondback SE Tonneau Cover does a tonneau cover count as a mod?

Then I added these Hi Rise Cross Bars from KB Voodoo Fabrications KB Voodoo Fabrications they mount over my Diamondback cover

Next: a 1.5 lift from Revtek Suspension which I have paired with my factory Fox suspension. The kit is called Revtek 427AP. What’s great about this set up is I’m able to clear 33s without a cab mount chop or or any other cutting/alterations and have absolutely zero rubbing.

This will most likely will not be a permanent suspension solution, even though I don't do very much hardcore offroading. Here she is getting the lift/wheels/tires installed

Wheels: VTX Rogue Satin wheels (16”x8” -12) which I decided to wrap with BF Goodrich KM3 tires (285/75/16). I'm totally in love with this combination, couldn't be happier with my decision
IMG_2825.jpg

My most recent mod was adding the Smittybilt Overlander tent which I installed on top of my KBV crossbars. Looking totes supe overlandy now

Welcome to the forum. I dig the DB cover - don’t see too many of them. You like it?
Thanks man, I really love the DB cover. Aesthetically it really adds to the appearance of the truck and the functionality of it is awesome. Both the front and rear panels lift up, everything locks - great tonneau cover. When I have the KB Voodoo cross bars mounted the way I did in the picture above (one bar on each panel) it prevents me from being able to fully open the panels. But I recently moved them so now both cross bars are mounted on the front panel and the back panel functions properly. I can still mount smaller things like Maxtrax, Rotopax, shovels etc on this way and if I ever get a RTT I'll just go back to my original mounting position. Its super easy to relocate the cross bars, takes like 10 minutes

I have never seen a cover like that, that is wild. I can think of a hundred times I could of used it instead of having my soft cover lol.
https://diamondbackcovers.com/ they're awesome! Definitely on the expensive side but you pay for what you get. Don't hold me to this but I'm 99% sure there has never been a break into one for as long as the company has been in operation which is crazy

The first thing that I added to my truck were OEM Predator Step Bars. I met a guy on Tacoma World who lived a few hours away and was willing to meet me half way with them and let them go for really cheap. Probably going to replace them with C4Fab Rock Sliders eventually but for the time being these were cheap and they serve the purpose of helping kids hop in easier. I also like the look of them

The next thing I added was a DiamondBack Tonneau Cover. This is the SE. I wont be mounting anything over #400-500 directly on top of it so I didn't need the HD model.

This is my favorite *mod* I've added so far. Does a tonneau cover count as a mod?

I had originally planned on going with their Max Modular ALUMAX Bed Rack but once that goes on it sort of defeats the purpose of having a DiamondBack cover because you can no longer open the panels

Future plans

Lighting
Planning on adding Rigid Industries 30" SAE SR Series
More TBD

Tires
Still debating on BF Goodrich A/T KO2 or Falken Wildpeak A/T 3W

Armor
I'm really considering the C4 Fab Overland Series Front Bumper

Suspension
TBD - one reason I bought a Pro was to not have to mod suspension, but it may be inevitable depending on how much weight I add and other shit I might do in the future

Winch
TBD

Accessories - I plan to add all of these soon
OEM All Weather Floor Liner
OEM Bed Mat
ARB Portable 12 Volt Air Compressor
Maxtrax
Rotopax
Welcome to the family here on tacoma3g ? that’s a beautiful truck man ??

Wow, they have some cool stuff for sure. If I have a need for a tool box I know where I’ll be going. That’s something I’ve always wanted, tool box and tonneau cover that won’t leak! Thanks for the info

And if you really wanted to, you could park your OHV toy up there too!

Mike (Last Line Of Defense) on YouTube will pretty much sell you a DiamondBack cover. His truck is really awesome. This is a good video of his

I’ve spent my weekend trying out different combinations for loading up the truck before Memorial Day weekend. My dad and I are going to do some camping, hiking and other shenanigans. I’m pumped to spend some time with him we don’t get to as much these days. Anyways, I just got this Smittybilt Overlander Tent installed Friday. So far I’m very pleased with the appearance and quality out of the box, hopefully it will hold up well with time

Brought my wife and our son to this scenic overpass yesterday to hang out for a few hours as the sun set. Great view, couple budweisers, that new Tame Impala song mostly on repeat = good times

Looks great. How long did your install take? Any issues or tips?
Thanks, I'm happy with how it turned out! Install went smoothly, assembling it is pretty straight forward. My main recommendation would be to have one or two people help you lift it up onto your truck when you're ready to install to avoid scratching anything. It's not that its very heavy its just awkward to set into place

What did you use to reseal the factory weather stripping? Or do you not need to pull it completely off when you cut it?

I haven't put the OEM weather stripping back on yet. In order to install it back with the prinsu you either have to cut it or drill holes through it where the spacers mount and I didn't feel like dealing with that when I installed the rack

So you can drill holes through it and mount the spacers on top of it? That seems interesting.
